The location is great.

Once I arrived I didn’t get greeted by anyone. There were 2 people sitting, it looked as if they worked there tho .. one of them later told me that he was only there for cleaning but wouldn’t work there (okay?). He then offered to show me around, we first had to get our shoes off (fine by me but why was he walking around with them until now?). Second bad thing that happened was the bathroom, wasn’t he here for cleaning? It was dirty, with only one roll of toilet paper left, no soap, no paper or towels. Well once I went to bed it really went bad, I felt something was off so I checked again on the reviews (newest ones!) and jumped out of the bed (where I hurt myself as the bed frame is too high and not sanded down) and immediately saw it too … bedbugs! I took all my belongings out of the room and shouted for someone to help me but no one would answer.. I texted but got ignored (still). I left that night and was lucky to book something else, (had a hard night cleaning my stuff and not bringend along any bugs) I didn’t want to spend anymore time in there.

A very bad bed bug infestation in the dormitory I'm surprised theyre letting people book! I noticed bedbugs crawling around the bed as I was about to go to sleep. When I looked around the room they were on all the beds and crawling up the bed frames as well, some of the beds didn't have mattresses so it seems like they knew already. I had to spend all night in the kitchen checking my clothes and then pay for a launderette in the morning!

Dear oh dear. What happened here? I stayed at this place at the start of August and absolutely everything was fine, I had no complaints. Fast forward to the end of August when I had my second stay here and it's like everything was turned upside down: - The Bathroom did not have hot water running, so I wasn't able to take a Shower/Bath - The Bathroom did not have soap to wash your hands - There was no Tea/Coffee in the kitchen provided - Microwave did not work The BIGGEST one: While I was there, I had my personal property stolen. Which you would assume would be very important and taken seriously by the staff but no, when I contacted a colleague of this Hostel and notified them about this, they told me, and I quote: That they will not do anything and even worse they started making FUN of me, making sarcastic comments about this theft. I couldn't believe it. I am NOT MAKING THIS UP.

When I arrived there was no prepared/clean bed, I tried to contact the number of the hostel via WhatsApp as indicated in the acceptance message and they told me they only spoke Latvian. Basically there is no staff of if there is it's really unuseful. I had to find clean linens by myself with the help of some other guests. Ok it's cheap, but I expected at least a clean place to sleep.
