I made a BOOKING.COM reservation at the FabHotel De Alphabet II-Ameerpet for one night, Wed, Feb 19- Thu, Feb 20. I arrived at the Hotel about 30 minutes later, walked over to the Hotel Receptionist/Agent on the Ground floor and showed him my Booking.com reservation. The Hotel Receptionist/Agent then called the property Manager/Owner for instructions, and informed me that the Hotel didn't have the room I reserved. Instead, the Agent shwoeed multiple rooms on the 1st floor. These rooms were not even close to what I reserved. After about 30 minutes of the hotel "tour", the property Manager/Owner asked the Hotel Receptionist/Agent to show me a room on the 4th Floor. In order to stay in that room, I would first have to "cancel" my reservation, and pay INR 2,500 in cash. As it was late at night in a city unfamiliar to me, I paid the Agent in cash. The property Manager/Owner relayed to the Agent that the Hotel would not give me a receipt!!! I did enter my personal information in the Hotel guest log and the Agent did photo copy my US Driver's license. I was escorted to a room on the fourth floor, where I would stay for the night. No keys, nothing. I locked myself up for the night and left the next morning at 5 am. I am a Hilton-Marriott-Hyatt diamond member for the past 30 years, I know the hotel stay process. Is this the kind of property Booking.com partners to does business?! I will wait to hear from Booking.com before I ever use your site.
