"It’s all about the staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming"

Staff were so helpful and welcoming. Special mention to Karloff, Juvlie and Jamie Lee. Location, was in town centre so close to attractions and tram. Breakfasts were divine and our room was a real home from home.

"Amazing 2nd visit"

We chose to stay here again after an amazing first visit in Nov 2022. Justin Mitchell, who I understand is Operations Director for the entire hotel group (Oyster Collection), was brilliant, as always. From my first email to him, months before we arrived, to saying goodbye at the end of our visit. His staff are well informed, attentive, yet beautifully informal in their approach. It remains one of the nicest places my husband & I have ever stayed in. We can't wait to come back!

"A perfect serene oasis to retreat to after a long day of sightseeing and wine tasting."

Location was superb, the staff were fantastic, lovely breakfast, spacious room with unbelievably comfortable bed. Peaceful and quiet even in high season.

Avondrood is a small boutique hotel, which is well positioned in a nice, safe neighbourhood in the centre of Franschhoek. We booked this hotel as opposed to one of the larger ones, hoping to receive the personal touch and we were not disappointed as every member of staff really went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable and memorable stay. I even had a cake baked for my 60th birthday, which shows how much they value their customers! I can't see a large corporate hotel doing the same or even considering it.

There is nothing that comes to mind.
