La Dimora della Fontana

When you arrive at the property, it already feels like your own home. I have never stayed somewhere so thoughtfully curated and stocked. The kitchen has every kitchen tool you will ever need (baking dishes, pots and pans, cutting boards, oil, salt, sugar, coffee, mocha pots, various cups and dishes, a lemon squeezer, salad spinner, literally EVERYTHING you can think of.) The house is spotless. It was cleaned so beautifully, and there are plenty of cleaning supplies if you need them during your stay. I loved the organization. It felt like a true home. There is a washer with detergent, soap in the shower, and plenty of towels and rags. The lighting is very nice and warm. The WiFi was excellent from every room. The heater kept the house very warm, and it’s easy to use with pellets (automatic). Veronica the host is so helpful and went out of her way to make our stay more comfortable and was very responsive. The view from the windows are really amazing, and the village is so charming. It’s very close to many places. We took day trips to Milan, Domodossola, Stresa, and Zermatt. The house is decorated with great taste and feels so cozy. The bathroom toilet and shower are separate from the sink, so many people can get ready in the bathroom at the same time with no issues. The place is even better in person than with photos! It’s beautiful.

These are not negatives, but just notes: we didn’t have cell service on top of the mountain, so make sure you know what the house looks like and maybe get the WiFi before you arrive. Or message Veronica before you start driving up the mountain. The listing says 2 bedrooms and 3 beds, but it is one private bedroom with a bed (upstairs) and one living room with a couch pull out bed downstairs (it is comfortable).

Veronica - the host - was super friendly and nice, have is some good tips for our hikes 😀👍 The appt was nice, clean and had good facilities and good parking options.
