"Fabulous stay!"

10.0

I stayed in the wee hous for 2 nights with my 2 dogs. It was perfect, exactly as described and it was so cosy. I slept in the downstairs bedroom and the bed was extremely comfortable. John (the host) sent me details in advance and had great communication throughout. It's the perfect peaceful getaway nestled in the beautiful hills of Donegal. Will definitely visit again!

"More than a WEE wasp problem and a WEE house in need of extra care and attention"

4.0

The one positive aspect of the property was its scenic location in the peaceful countryside.

1. The house was old and run-down, with a strong dog odour lingering on all the furniture. 2. The most serious issue was a wasp nest in the attic. Upon arrival, we found dozens of wasps inside—some dead, others alive—and they continued to appear daily. Fortunately, we found a can of bug spray in a cupboard, which gave as an illusion of safety. 3. The living room lights flickered so badly that we couldn’t use them. 4. The shower was very small, mouldy, and did not drain properly. After just a couple of minutes, water would pool around our ankles. 5. No toiletries were provided. 6. All the heaters were old and rusty. 7. Despite being listed on Booking.com, there was no washing machine. 8. The fridge was too small to be practical for self-catering. 9. The internet and TV connection were extremely slow and unreliable. 10. Only half a roll of toilet paper was provided for a three-night stay. We had to contact the owner to request more, which he provided.

It was vlean and very reasonably priced.

Remote. Couch very uncomfortable. Told about check out time and then told again that the cleaner would be there at 10am and unnecessary to tell me she would have other places to do later. Not interested, l already knew the checkout time.

"Cosy cottage in the heart of Donegal"

10.0

It was easy to find, clean & tidy. The bed was super comfy. The perfect place to relax by the fire after a day exploring. We loved that it was pet friendly so we could bring our dog, there was wifi & a smart tv and lovely cafes & pubs only 5 mins drive away. Mount errigal is only a 10 minute drive away. John made sure we had everything we needed, the check in process was seamless. Will definitely be back in the future!

The countryside location was very peaceful, we saw two hares in the field when we first arrived & also enjoyed watching the lambs playing. The beds were comfy & the cottage had all the facilities you could need. Short drive to Ards Forest Park, Donegal Boardwalk & many other beaches & coastal attractions

"Quiet and cosy getaway great for outdoor types"

9.0

Location is remote surrounded by mountains for peace & quiet. So much hiking and biking and beaches nearby. Also close to Creeslough which has nice cafe and restaurant. It had everything needed for self catering and was warm.

Nothing, it has a shower curtain which I’m not a fan of them but that’s just a personal preference.

Love the location. Really is perfect. A world all to yourself. Note this is good for people who like the remoteness whilst also being close to the beach, the national park and forest areas. Wild Atlantic Way routes and several near villages to go eat and explore. So very good for people who like being outside and can entertain themselves. It felt like going back in time to my grandmother's house. All the amenities but old school. Great aesthetic and love the lack of technology.

Perhaps for the future an outdoor cover or place to sit under to fully admire the surroundings. I appreciate maybe no need in Summer but for a winter stay you could admire the view from the comfort of a canopy whilst drinking tea! Front door leaked during heavy rain but owner made aware and was respondent to the issue.
