The room was clean and the location was quiet but not too far from the town centre. Great coms with instructions before arriving.

It was a shame that I didn’t meet the host as previous reviews all say how lovely she is. Unfortunately my experience here wasn’t great. I was greeted by a large boarded up window which looked awful. The key box worked fine (coms before arriving were very good) and when inside a young lad briefly showed me where the bathroom, toilet and my room was. The room was very clean with provisions to hang my shirt and water and tea/coffee was also provided (you then used the supplied ingredients to make your drink in the kitchen). My biggest criticism is that although the bed looked large and welcoming (as in the photos) it was actually a pull out sofa which was extremely soft, this could be some people’s preference but I found it extremely uncomfortable - surely a proper bed as minimum should be provided? There was no lock on the bedroom door, just a door chain once you were inside, this meant I needed to lock everything in my car when I went out to the town. There were also no black out curtains so the room was light before 05.00. I decided to get up early as I was wide awake to have a shower and leave. I skipped the shower as it was full of the family’s toiletries and personal items (including washing hanging in pretty much every room). I completely understood and knew I was staying in a private dwelling, but feel that if this service was offered, surely you would keep the communal areas - especially the bathroom, as clear of personal items as possible? It just felt to me that no effort has been made to make this a welcoming experience.

A wonderful experience to meet an interesting family and to spend several hours chatting..Although breakfast was not included the owner kindly cooked me a delicious breakfast and refused to accept payment.
