GBWe've just returned from our 4 night stay at Heron View Holiday Home. The caravan itself is lovely and was well equipped with everything we needed. It has Sky tv (regular channels), Monopoly board game, jenga and uno card games which were used by us all. The cleaner arrived as we did (early check in) and did an exceptional job, the caravan was super clean and smelled amazing after she'd finished. The view of the loch from the decking is stunning and the spot was perfect for our 2 dogs and 3 kids to run around with their toys and football. There is an outdoor table and chairs which I hadn't noticed on the photos but was glad of! The site over the road has all the amenities, including a shop (relief!) and it's a nice stroll up there. We ate at the onsite pub restaurant on the first night (prebooked earlier on the day) and the food was AMAZING. The soft play area next to the pub was a huge bonus with a toddler, we played at the park 3 or 4 times and used the swimming pool (must be booked on the morning - advised to be at site office for 9am to book as it gets busy). We pre booked the watersports which is just a short drive down the road and that was brilliant, the lovely guy running it even let our 3 year old use a little boat he made for his grandkids which no longer gets used and it really made our day! We had plenty of time off site, driving to Portpatrick to the beach and Newton Stewart for a lovely meal at The Cock Inn which has views over the sea and a shingle beach. The Frying Scotsman chippy in Wigtown was very good too. The nearest takeaway we could find was in Newton Stewart (20 mins drive) where they had pizza, Chinese and Indian food shops. I would recommend this accommodation and site to friends and family if they were looking for a comfortable, quiet stay away from it all, not sure we would stay somewhere so remote again but that's just personal preference and not a reflection of the caravan or site which were both great
Lack of WiFi and phone signal was a big issue, I was aware it would be minimal but didn't realise how bad it actually was The on site pool really needs a good update - regular cleaning and a proper changing room would be beneficial The site is VERY remote, we spent most of the holiday driving to visit places and although the roads are beautiful it became quite tiring after the second day
GBThe staff were very helpful and friendly on the site as were the caravan owners around us they had all the info on the non existing WiFi and the very poor phone signal. The walks around the site were beautiful.
No WiFi even though it was on the description for the caravan the site WiFi has never been any good according to the site staff no good for my grandchildren or any work issues. We had problems with the hot water boiler which was repaired by the site electrician and the rain was dripping onto the kitchen floor through the vent on roof this was never repaired as the site had no access to a tractor I was told? T.V. needed new batteries for the remote and re tuned the site handyman sorted this. This holiday looked ideal we needed the WiFi and I did text Stu the owner but he said he was working in Australia and would get things sorted. I hate moaning but we left a day early this holiday would be ideal for someone wanting away from it all and no communication.

GBWe loved the location. Rural and quiet but loads of activities from toddlers to young adult. No big parties or drinking adults on decking. Great little holiday park with a mix of permanent tenants and family holiday caravans
We were not able to take assistance dogs into the restaurant/bar and chefs who we were told had an issue with this seemed to mix up ESAs with Assistance Dogs. Shane but we only wanted 1 Sunday dinner so didn't detract from stay
