MAISON ISOLA DI ORTIGIA

The apartment was very clean, Ortigia itself appeared to be one of the brightest places in Sicily: it feels safe, clean comparing to another districts of Siracusa and other towns,- with all that the apartment is on a quiet street right between a beach and centre of the island. Host was super pleasant and helpful. We switched multiple homes and visited many places in Sicily this summer. I say Rosario’s apartment is the only one where I felt really welcome, and felt like home. Once we had an issue (appeared to be trivial) with electricity, so Rosario left everything and came to us to fix that in 15-ish minutes. That is the place I can recommend and I would like to come back again.

There’s a lack of place to dry clothes after laundry.

Location! If you’re looking for a place that it’s walking distance to all the attractions in Ortigia, this is it. The apartment was also spotless, probably one of the cleanest rentals I’ve visited. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Everything was to our liking. Sometimes there was a bit of noise off the street but it didn’t really bother us.

Exceptional service and a great apartment. Rosario was incredibly friendly and gave us lots of advice. He even bought our child a farewell gift. Can’t say enough nice things about him and his apartment.

We were a five minute walk from a wonderful beach for swimming. The refrigerator contained cold drinks for a reasonable price along with free yogurt and milk. Breakfast consisted of packaged croissants, cereal and cake. Coffee and tea was provided. The kitchen had olive oil, and spices and pots and pans, toaster oven but no microwave. There is a washing machine, but we did not try it. Rosario was kind and helpful. The bed was comfortable.

The air conditioning only works when you insert the house key. So if you go out for the day, you will come back to a hot apartment.  There was construction right across the alley, very noisy September 20-22. The apartment is street level with no view. We could hear scraping of chairs and crying of baby from the apartment above. There are no screens on the windows. 

Rosario was the best host, friendly, helpful, picked me up at the train, dropped me off at the bus. His place was well stocked, the location could not have been better , air conditioner worked great, I did laundry. I swam every day and requested an extra towel, he brought me a beach towel

Pillows could be better, but I rarely get pillows as nice as my own down ones
