He allowed us to check in sooner. That is the only good thing about our experience here. Other than that, the unit was not at all what we expected. It’s way smaller than shown in the pictures. The beds are as hard as rock and so uncomfortable to sleep on. The shower’s poorly tiled, which can pose a danger to slippery feet considering that the floor is also on a slope. There are no toiletries and a very used and squeezed hand wash bottle is made available at the sink. The tiling behind the toilet is also incomplete. The unit also smells of drain. The fridge was unhygienic and dirty. The freezer needs to be cleaned and does not meet health and safety standards. We had to leave the place after the first night because staying there was unbearable and way too far from NWU, which was our reason for visiting. Don’t even dare complain about anything though or report the host. We had to cancel our reservation through Booking.com and obviously had to state our reason for cancellation. Upon being communicated with on our decision and motivation, the host, whose name we still don’t know by the way, just to show his level of hospitality, essentially asked us to check out right there and then. Now all of a sudden being concerned about my complaints, he sends maintenance to look at the bathroom while we were occupying the space, invading our privacy. It was the most unbearable stay I’ve had ever! And such a waste of time. We couldn’t get a refund as consolation. The places we booked before and after this were 1000% times cleaner, convenient and more comfortable, and at a way more reasonable price. Don’t even consider this place as even a last resort.
