Skye's Atlantic Retreat

Mary, the host, was fantastic from start to finish. The booking was seamless with none of the usual caveats which almost make you nervous before putting a foot inside the door. Everything was exactly as advertised. The property was exactly as it said on the tin : Spacious, spotless, bright and airy. It has everything from a toaster to an air fryer. The beds are so comfortable and everything works. It has all the channels, Disney and Netflix included. Mary even left milk and the essential condiments plus Kit Kats in the fridge. There was even fuel for the great little stove which added a lovely, atmospheric touch. It is in an ideal location and within walking distance of restaurants and local pubs. Supervalue is literally across the road for all your essentials including tipples and snacks. The cliffs of Moher and other national treasures are within 20 mins drive time. The beach is a 5 minute drive away. The kids had a ball and even though it was February the sun shone while they chased each other on the sand. Great breakfasts are available in the local cafes, the Armada hotel’s menu looked fab but it was booked out so I’d say prebook to avoid disappointment. All in all it’s a fantastic spot and you will not be disappointed.

The only thing I didn’t like was that was that we couldn’t stay longer!

This house is the perfect property for everyone. Whether you are going with friends or family, adults or kids the house will still exceed your expectations. The location could not have been better. The house has everything you will need. It is the definition of a home away from home. I cannot wait to return to Clare and have no doubt this will be where I will stay !

The property was nice and spacious with all of the amenities you typically have in your home. Hand soap, toilet paper, towels, and linens were all provided. There were games and books for entertainment. Mary was a very wonderful host who accommodated our need for a crib for our 6 month old and was easily contacted if we needed anything else. The house is a walk away from a SuperValu Supermarket and just outside the lovely town of Miltown Malbay. The house is a short drive to the beach and the beautiful Spanish Point. It is also close by to some of Ireland’s most famous attractions such as the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren National Park. I cannot say enough good things about our stay and definitely would book again if we are to be in the area!

Great location as a base for exploration and very spacious, fairly good facilities but could be improved, overall good stay

Heating and hot water system, not enough hot water and heating , neither were adjustable when required , some radiators didn’t work , and no sink plug available for kitchen sink , to wash up by hand as dishwasher wasn’t working during stay.

Great location,easy walk to shops,bars and restaurants. Well equipped house even had a coffee machine, milk, biscuits and condiments and logs for the stove, a nice touch.

House needs some TLC, for example loose tiles on ensuite floor , broken towel and toilet roll holders, small things that could be fixed to improve first impressions. Otherwise house was extremely comfortable and well equipped, we would happily stay again.
