Loved our stay at Meadow Rise. Clive and Wendy are great hosts and the location is perfect.

We had a wonderful stay! Clive and Wendy were exceptional hosts — warm, welcoming, and always happy to share helpful local information. The house and gardens are absolutely beautiful, and the rooms are large, comfortable, and spotless. It’s just a short walk into the village, making it a perfect location. Highly recommended!

The location is a short walk to the centre of the village with views over open fields. We had the attic room, which although large in terms of floorspace suffered from a lack of head height over about half of that area. Nevertheless the room felt spacious enough. The en-suite was large although the over bath shower, given the amount of space in the room, is narrow. We stayed in three places on our Cotswolds trip, this was the most expensive by 40%, but, the third best.

We were unlucky to catch some cool, windy and wet September weather. We did not have control of the heat in the room and although the en-suite has a radiator it is neither a towel radiator nor independent of the main heating system. It seems it wasn't quite cold enough to trigger the thermostats on the main heating for very long. We therefore had damp towels. I guess we could have asked for fresh ones. Breakfast was ok, ingredients were good, but felt a little parsimonious, the orange juice was sharp, never a great sign, filter not machine coffee.

This B&B is very close to the cute village of Bourton on the Water. This is the best example town of the many in the Costwolds. The town has multiple pubs, restaurants and cafes, all within walking distance of your accommodation. The town is pretty crowded with loads of tourists walking around the town and enjoying the river view and cooling off in summer.
