Poppies Cottages on Two

A little sanctuary in Kuta. The grounds are large, natural and were delightfully green when I visited. The room was private, a generous size and very comfortable. It was good value for money. Lots of shops and eateries are in the street out the front. It's surprisingly quiet given the area. Only one staff member was visible and he appeared to double as security.

There were no facilities on site, however, it's possible to use the other Poppies' swimming pool around 400m away. I'm not a fan of the electric air freshener sprays that periodically dowse the room(s), maybe they could be switched on at the discretion of guests.

I Stayed in Kuta in 1980.Kuta and Legian have been thoroughly ruined by over-tourism . However; once past the security gate and inside the surrounding 15 ft fence, Poppie's looks remarkably the way it did then. So if there is a reason you have to stay in that area, Poppies has retained it's charm and is a gardeny oasis in the middle of and removed from the chaos in the street. Clean comforrable beds, working a/c and cable TV. It's good value and their restaurant isn't too far and cottage guests have use of their hotel pool

I love the surroundings! It is like a little piece of jungle in the middle of the city. The bungalows are spacious and decorative although our room was organized a bit strangely. Very first time had a proper HOT shower. It was a bliss...❤️
