Japandi Style Flat in Thessaloniki City Center

We had a very nice stay at the apartament, the host was very nice and responsive, we communicated easily and helped us to check-in earlier. The location is excellent, close to city center. We had all the facilities we needed for our trip (iron, iron board, washing machine and detergent, hair dryer etc) and we were even asked if we needed fresh towels from the person responsible with the apartament.

It wasn’t the case 😀

Apartment (general impression): Clean, spacious and very creatively furnished, where Scandinavian style is combined with elements of Japanese culture. The apartment is equipped with a small ironing board, iron, hair dryer (that power!), clothes dryer, plastic container, duvet, blanket and pillows. Bedroom: Extremely spacious and sunny with access to a small balcony. Bamboo wardrobe, which has both shelves and space to hang clothes on hangers. The bed is very large and comfortable. The bedroom has a large TV with access to entertainment channels such as Netflix, Youtube. Kitchen: Fully equipped with various kitchen accessories, from cutlery and plates to a lovely kitchen cloth with the proud embroidery of "Thessaloniki". The kitchen has a large fridge, induction cooker with oven and washing machine. There is also a small balcony. Bathroom: Although not huge, it is adequately spacious, the shower offers a large rain shower and a small oblong handset with a massage function. Thanks to the oblong bathroom shelf on wheels, you can store your cosmetics and other necessary things. The only challenge for those with long hair may be the drain, which tends to clog, which means that the water takes a little longer to drain. Internet: access to 4G and 5G technology, working flawlessly. Neighborhood: Fantastic! The apartment is located between two main streets of Thessaloniki, in a developing area full of cafes, local bakeries offering excellent products and small grocery stores. The metro/bus stop and the large "Sklavenitis" market are just a 5-minute walk away. The main tourist attractions such as the Basilica of St. Demetrius, the Arch of Galerius, the White Tower are just a 15-minute leisurely walk away. Contact with the property: The host turned out to be a very nice and fantastic person, full of patience and empathy. He was very willing to help and there was no question that would remain unanswered.

Inconveniences resulting from the building's architecture: • no elevator in the building (the apartment is located on the fourth floor), • thin walls through which you can hear your neighbors, • shower drain that can get clogged

Nothing.

The flat is on the 4th floor with NO ELEVATOR. It is in a VERY DIRTY neighborhood where you have dog poo every 2 meters, There is absolutely no parking around the building. Even if there are paid parkings - they are closed for the general public. I didn't get any invoice or receipt for the stay. The owner refused to give one. The apartment was very dirty inside with used up earwax q-tips on the floor - DISGUSTING !!! There were no additional bed or pillow linens despite registering and paying for three people. FOR DESERT - when turning the lights on - cockroaches start running away under the furniture so that you can comfortably go to sleep knowing that they are everywhere. Go look for something else. I am sure you can get something better. I don't know how in the world this apartment has such high ratings.

The floor-to-ceiling glass divider between the bedroom and the living room creates a large open space. The kitchen was well-equipped and there is a washing machine for those who intend to stay longer. Espresso pods, slippers and shower gels were provided. Large TV, if into that. The location is very good in an upcoming neighborhood: there is an array of hip cafes (little cup, yaya mavili), bars (utopia, wagon lit), and restaurants (paraflou, koru, aspro dentro) around the apartment. It is very close to Ladadika district for clubbing. Also, in walking distance of Plateia Dimokratias metro station, and the new Railway Station. You will find a large supermarket and three of the best mpougatsa places (Milkakis, Bantis, Katselis) close by. Owner is responsive and accommodating, almost like a Guest Relations professional. He knows how to deal with guest feedback and he tries to make sure the stay at his premises is satisfying.

The neighbours next door were loud at times.
