Carson City Plaza Hotel

The location was good and the lighting outside was nice and bright, which made it feel safer.

First of all, there are no signs on the main side of the hotel to let you know that they are remodeling so the check in is in the back of the area. The front desk were okay, but not a good first impression. No coffee pot even though there was a refrigerator and microwave, and the beds were just okay. One of the beds had a very large dip in it, so we slept in the other bed. The blackout curtain was too skinny to cover the window, so it was like trying to sleep during the day.

We had a king suite and enjoyed having a separate living room. It was in a building behind the main part of the hotel, so it was further back from the road and pretty quiet. The breakfast was simple but good and generous, and the view of the mountains from the temporary breakfast room was beautiful. The toiletries provided were good. Staff were friendly and helpful. We could easily walk to restaurants in the downtown area.

There were no hand towels, only bath towels and face cloths. Also not many places to hang wet towels (one rack above the toilet, which didn’t seem very hygienic). On our first morning (out of 2), housekeeping knocked on the door before 7.30am - too early for people not checking out that day!

We always like staying at this hotel, and we normally stay in the main building, but this time we couldn’t because of remodeling, so they gave us a room in one of the back buildings and it was VERY NOISY—so if we can’t get a room in the main building we definitely won’t be staying there again.
