E Sanctuary Resort Ubud

The breakfast was very good. The architecture and landscaping was amazing. The villas were private and we enjoyed the private pool very much. We also enjoyed the massages. The beds were comfortable. Definitely recommend the place for guests looking for peace and quiet. The resort is an experience not to be missed.

The TV area is outside and we found it was very uncomfortable to sit. The location of the resort is not easy to find and the driveway is not for the faint hearted. You cannot walk anywhere. You need a driver or taxi.

Amazing staff. So helpful and friendly. The team makes you feel like a vip. Always happy to help. Private villa was so comfortable and relaxing. Very peaceful area perfect to just get away and relax.

Centipedes around the pool area

The villa was a bit more secluded than other resorts, which made it peaceful and relaxing. The property provided every essential you could think of: an international adapter, robe, slippers, and two full glass bottles of filtered water refilled daily. Housekeeping was offered twice a day if desired. I opted out of the turndown service. Breakfast was included with my room package and was served by a pond filled with fish. Room service was excellent, and the staff was always friendly and welcoming. I was a little hesitant because of a low number of reviews. I am happy I took a chance and booked this room. The rooms were clean, spacious, and exactly as pictured, with a huge jetted tub, a couch, desk, and plenty of space for clothes. I appreciated the small details: a smart TV outdoors, a fridge and kitchen sink outside, and hardly any bugs—just an occasional fly, but nothing major (I kept the door shut). The private pool was cleaned once during my stay. I requested a floral arrangement for my birthday in the pool, this came with an additional fee, it added a nice background for my pics. Overall, a quiet, well-kept, and beautifully designed place to stay. Highly recommend if you’re looking for comfort, privacy, and a relaxing atmosphere.

The villa is fairly new, and a few drivers had trouble finding the location. One driver even suggested placing a sign at the entrance of the road leading into the resort to make it easier to locate. This would be a helpful addition—likely something that’s already in the works as the property continues to develop.

The breakfast was not great. The restaurant has very limited food for dinner and lunch - there isn’t much food available - limited choice. Maybe like 5 meals.

The pillows are awful- it’s like sleeping on high rocks - the mosquito net would literally be uncomfortable to wrap around. The pool was constantly dirty with things falling into it and the staff did try and help clean once - but it’s just dirty. Be prepared for lots of mosquitos and seclusion.

Everything was wonderful

I didn’t like that they don’t allow payments in advance. Payment must be made onsite, which was inconvenient since I booked the trip for someone else as a gift and it was a little stressful upon arrival as far as payment went. Additionally, they only accept Visa and do not take Amex or Discover.

I enjoyed my pleasant stay, which offered great comfort and privacy. The villa area was spacious and comfortable, with friendly staff and a location not far from Gianyar city. The stay included breakfast and a delightful experience, with delicious meals served at a restaurant overlooking an impressive artificial rainforest. Access to tourist attractions was convenient and saved a lot of time.
