ZEL-VA Tulum Apartments

The apartments are spacious and welcoming. I particularly loved that they had large screened doors on opposite sides, so you could get the most beautiful cross-breeze by opening them both. My apartment had a private rooftop deck and plunge pool as well, which was my own little oasis. The Wifi was fast and reliable so working from the apt was easy. There is a lot of talk about power outages but mine only went a few times and only once for more than a few minutes. The view is great too, you really just look at out treetops and you feel like you're in the jungle. Staff was very responsive and attentive on whatsapp (the communication method of choice here).

The gym is currently non-existent. It was closed during my stay as they're repairing the infinity pool, but even if it was open, there is almost no equipment: a treadmill, a workout bench and only a few, mostly light free weights. Also the provisions in the apartment itself are really sparse, with no basics like salt, pepper, cooking oil, etc. You have to ask staff for new garbage bags often as the receptacle is very small - they come very quickly but you should just have them on hand.

Les chemins chaotiques du quartier. Le manque de fourniture de cuisine. Tout est fait pour 2 personnes seulement. Les poêlons étaient abîmés car ils ont surchauffés. Passoire pour égoutter les spaghettis. Sinon pour le reste c'était biens.

The property was beautiful, two really nice pool areas, gorgeous bedrooms complete with plunge pools. The staff were also very responsive and helpful when needed.

I really struggled with the location, there are no supermarkets nearby and when I arrived on the first day, I was alone and too scared to go out looking for a shop. When I did eventually find one it was at least 20 minutes on foot and only had basic items. I feel that the apartment should have been supplied with basic necessities such as salt and pepper for the kitchen, we also ran out of toilet paper twice and no shops around the area sold it. Luckily we were looked after by the hotel staff and they brought more. I stayed for 10 days in total and was shocked to find there is no cleaning services unless you pay. Would have been a 10/10 if it wasn’t for the inconvenient location but I wouldn’t return based on this.

The view and the roof top pool is amazing. Bed is big and comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen for cooking was really nice and drinking water provided.

The only downside was we had issues using the lifts on certain floors and they would take some time. But really that’s the only downside. Otherwise, the area is a little far to get to the main town and it’s mainly dirt roads so be careful when driving. But with a car it’s easy to get around and go to the nearby shops.

It was an apartment so you had your privacy all to yourself and it had two pools of you didn’t have an penthouse which comes with its own pool. They provide water for you so that was great as the water from faucets are not safe to drink

You need to bring extra towels and tissue as they give you some as complmemtry but if your staying more then a week as we did you will need to do so we had brought extra wash cloths with us but not extra dry off towels but we made it work. No washing machine or dryer at the complex.

Rooms were modern and very clean, the staff were amazing and Rebecca was really helpful

It’s a little far from the town if you don’t have a vehicle but we rented a quad bike so that made things easier
