Beatiful historic house & friendly attentive host.

Some construction work could b heard in day time 2 blocks away

Super lovely 107 year house, the owners were so friendly and lovely to have a chat with. The stay was clean and comfortable, with free drinking water, tea and coffee. Was kept sufficiently cool with 2 fans in the room, and many fans around the house. Only had 1 night in Colombo, and the place was so great I almost wanted to extend my stay!

Decor and overall theme of the place

I liked the amazing hospitality of the owners. Felt like being at home. The establishment was well organized offering a wide variety of things to do around the area. Highly recommended to start your trip in Sri Lanka.

College House is one of the most authentic places you can find in Colombo. It’s a spot where you can truly feel the city’s vibe. The owners are amazing and inspiring people—they gave me plenty of helpful tips for navigating the city during my first days in Sri Lanka and genuinely cared about my well-being. Also, don’t believe anyone who says there’s nothing to see in Colombo—it’s simply not true!

Harish and his lady helper were so welcoming and hospitable. They made my stay comfortable and ensured everything was ready and waiting for me upon my arrival. My room was clean, neat, and comfortable, with 2 fans (it was very humid), and a lovely mosquito net covered the bed! The room is spacious! The colonial style home ensured it was cool inside. There is a stunning veranda and garden to relax in. It is very centrally situated and was easy to walk to restaurants in the area. I enjoyed my home stay there and would highly recommend it to other Intrepid travellers!! 10/10

I spent a night in the College House and the lady running the house was friendly and helpful. It's located quite well (not too far away from e.g. the train station).

The streets around are narrow and full. But I guess that's the case nearly everywhere in Colombo. The room was a bit dark and warm, but all in all it was totally fine!

Super hosts, informative, interesting, interested. Historical property, the owners mother was a famous dancer during the era of Josephine Baker, very glamorous.

Some work being done to property, probably an ongoing process.

Nice family business, very friendly and helpful people, good breakfast. In a calm side street, just the perfect place to start or end the holidays in Sri Lanka.

We enjoyed our stay in Kamal’ s house very much, the place has an excellent charakter and Kamal is a fantastic host. Helped us with everything, gave us a lot of advice and his two lovely housekeepers made an excellent sri lankam breakfast for us.
