I loved leaving in the morning, I couldn't wait to leave. Leaving was the best part.

I didn't like anything about it, as soon as we walked in, we regretted booking it. The only reason we stayed is because I was out of pocket due to a cancellation that morning. It was dirty, cold, damp and mouldy. We didn't want to touch anything that was there. We bought blankets as we didn't trust the bedcovers being clean. It was disgusting. Just don't go there, rumour has it you never really leave, a piece of your soul gets stuck there and is generated into a new random picture frame on the wall. Save yourselves.

"Couldn’t stay because of the dirtiness and freezing cold temperatures in the property, so Inabandoned it and booked a ho"

1.0

There was absolutely nothing to like about this property itself but the proprietor was polite.

The property was dirty. Had a funny unpleasant smell. The lighting in the room was very dull. Hurt the eyes just staying in it. The bedding looked dirty and extremely aged. No heating. The owner left a hand sized electric heater which couldn’t even warm up your hands if you held them close to it. There were rubbish in closets around the house. Curtains looked like cats had urinated on them. Dead flies in the bath. We just left after trying to ignore all the dirt, smell and cold discomfort. Had to book a different place, a hotel this time, for the night. Was very disappointed and annoyed.

"A pleasant and interesting experience."

The Sports City guest house was unavailable and I was directed to a different location which by and large was quite satisfactory both for comfort and easy access to buses.

There was no WiFi

"Very poor accommodation for £90 a night."

3.0

Location ok. Just over 2 miles from Co op live.supermarket and other shops close by. Near bus route.

Most of stay was unpleasant. One shared house key between all guests. We did not understand we had to put front door key back and memorise code when we left so we unintentionally locked another guest out. Our room key was left in kitchen but room had a dodgy lock and when we were leaving to go out the key broke in lock and we had to leave our possessions in an unlocked room and put chair under door at night. Tried to ring owner but couldn't get a signal at concert venue. Facilities poor for £90 a night. One threadbare towel between 2 guests! Couldn't get shower to work no bath plug or water to bath. No water in bathroom so had to wash hands downstairs in cold water. Ended up cleaning teeth in downstairs toilet as cold water there. Kitchen drain blocked outside and over flowing. No hot water in kitchen that I could find and no water to bath even if we could find a plug. . Fitted sheets weren't long enough to fit properly over mattress so unfitted in morning when we woke up. Centre light had 5 lamps but only one bulb working. Only 1 bedside lamp and table so partner had to use upturned bucket as bedside table. Only one pillow each. No bed head. Whole house smells of damp Luckily not winter when we stayed. Booking.com should take this accommodation off their site. Room very far from 'deluxe '! Lock to front door not very secure so didn't feel safe. Fellow guest also left without wash or shower and very disgruntled!

"Like an escape room, difficulty 4 star, basic facilities, read rest of review for bizarre experience"

Okay for an overnight stay

This is genuinely what happened 7th December 2024 Firstly when I booked this place I didn't realise it would be like trying to do an escape room. no instructions prior to arrival on what I would need to gain entry. nobody at the property, I had to find a phone number on my booking to call to gain a code to get a key just to get into the property, which took 10 - 15 minutes to explain to me that I wasn't to tell anyone the key code whilst we were stood in the pouring rain and wind. When I finally got into the house I was instructed on the phone to go upstairs and search for the room key behind the sofa in the living room like I was following a clue, no numbers on the room doors so had to try and work out which door was which. When we got into the room the call was practically cut off after her explaining that there was only 1 front door key so we needed to make sure the key was put back and the code memorised, no further contact other than me messaging the morning after to tell her I'd put the room key back where I got it from. The room itself was okay, basic bed, chair and table although it was freezing with no heating in December not brilliant. Shared bathroom with hole in the floor near the toilet and the shower didn't work. I don't normally leave reviews either good or bad but this experience was just that an experience I'll never forget! Note to the owner - id suggest contacting people BEFORE they arrive with instructions on how to stay here because that probably would have made a whole lot of difference to our experience
