Cozy Retreat in Downtown Lancaster with Backyard Patio

The steps were very steep.

The location was excellent! Right downtown and not too far from anything. Kim and Steve (hosts) were fantastic and very helpful.

Fantastic attention to detail. It is clear that everything was chosen carefully with an eye towards quality and user comfort. Super comfortable mattress/sheets/duvet cover. The kitchen is outfitted for actual use rather than being an afterthought without usable kitchenware. Did a two week stay and couldn't be happier with the experience. Great location. The owners are super nice and helpful.

Great location in Lancaster.

My home is a ranch, I underestimated adjusting to a home with stairs.

Kim and Steve could not be better hosts! We arrived to find a bottle of red wine, snacks and a beautiful welcome note on the table. Felt like we were visiting friends. (Not sure if they give a bottle of wine to overnight guests. We were there for three nights.) They were also incredibly responsive. A few times we had questions and sent messages in the Booking app. We always received a response within minutes. The house is very well appointed. They have a cute little coffee maker that will make pots of coffee as well as Keurigs so you can do either that you like. They have a rotating display of all kinds of coffee and hot chocolate pods. They had bottles of water and a couple of juice packets in the fridge. The beds were very comfortable and there was no road noise at night. We slept very well. Definitely adequate hot water for showers. We really liked the parking spot directly behind the backyard. That was very convenient! In Lancaster's residential areas, it's not uncommon to have to park a block or two away, so the spot behind the backyard was excellent. We didn't do any full-fledged cooking - not many people do on vacation, right? But we had everything we needed to make our oatmeals in the morning. The house is impeccably clean and has everything you need for a few nights. You can walk to all of the downtown sites from this house. It really is quite convenient. I would highly recommend staying here if you are doing a Lancaster vacation.

This isn't something we didn't like per se but just an observation for others who might consider this location. It is not suitable for you if anyone in your group has mobility issues. It is an old, small house and, because of the limited space, the staircase to the second floor is very steep with quite high risers. There is only one bathroom and it is on the second floor. If someone in your group has problems with stairs, this is not the place for you. The bathroom is also pretty tight. Specifically getting back to the toilet could be difficult if you have someone who is very overweight. These two considerations probably don't apply to most groups but thought I would mention them.

The rooms were a good size with room for a bassinet. The location was good, the area felt safe, and the house was clean. The beds were firm which I liked and there nice dishes for us to use. Our host also left us snacks, water, and a welcome note
