AmazINN Panamá Casa Marichu Boutique

Nice room with everything we needed for a few days in Panama City. Easy check in for us and really central location. We could even store our luggage there when going to San Blas, which was amazing. In real, the terrace is not as inviting as it looks on the pictures.

LOCATION 5* Couldn’t ask for better. It’s perfect. The old town is small so nothing is far but this place is down a relatively quiet street yet still feels safe and is in a great location. COMFORT AND AMENITIES 5* Everything is great – hot water, cold AC, great quality mattress and pillows. There’s a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need – utensils, microwave, kettle, toaster etc. There’s plenty of seating incl. 2 chairs on the balcony. The rooftop pool is very small. More a plunge pool than a swimming pool but it’s fine and there’s comfortable seating to relax up there. SERVICE 5* Check-in is all automatic (there’s no keycards, just keycodes) so you don’t see anyone. There’s a small reception desk downstairs but it’s never staffed. But they’re very contactable online via the booking.com messenger app. PRICE 4* I think the price is very reasonable given the location and comfort and amenities of the room.

On booking.com it’s advertised as ‘AmazINN Places Deluxe Estudio’ but you’re actually staying at ‘Hotel Casa Marichu’ – it doesn’t matter but a little confusing. PEACEFULNESS 3* Even though the street is relatively quiet the noise proofing in this hotel isn’t very good. I was woken up often. The worst is when someone enters the main door downstairs – it slams shut and shake the walls and door to your room. It’s very loud! CLEANING 3* Very clean on arrival but during stay - disappointing. I stayed 5 days but nobody once came in to change my towels or empty my bins - this is not nice since you have to put toilet tissue in a bin without a lid and it of course starts to smell after 5 days!

Mauvaise expérience avec cet établissement. Bruit jusque 4h du matin, et retour du bruit à 7h. Personnel inflexible. Nous avions réservé deux nuits pour une partie de notre lune de miel, mais nous avons appris deux semaines avant que nous aurions du retard. Nous avons voulu annulé une nuit, l'établissement n'a pas accepté.. 130 euros de perdu, la raison selon eux "vu le prix très avantageux, nous ne pouvons pas accepter votre demande". Donc 260 euros pour une nuit. La chambre super bruyante en genius (je déconseille cette fonctionnalité de booking, qui donne les moins bonne chambre et apparemment pas de flexibilité). Chambre à côté d'une discothèque à ciel ouvert. On s'est un peu senti roulé ! Problèmes a l'arrivée avec le code d'entrée, problèmes d'alarme à 23h. C'est propre, et bien situé. Encore heureux. Si vous voulez dormir, allez ailleurs.

The location is the best part of this hotel - it's within a few minutes walk of everything in Casco Viejo. The balcony was nice to sit on for breakfast and the kitchen was well stocked. They let us check in early and the employees that we did encounter were kind.

They don't clean the rooms at all during your stay which came as a surprise. There was one bottle of water left for us for our multi-day visit. They were doing construction on the room next to ours until after 8pm, and we had a 5am flight. It was hard to find employees at times. Aside from the construction, it was loud (restaurant downstairs and every door in the hotel slams loudly--they could use some rugs). The code to the outside worked well but the one to our room was finicky.

Location is great because it is in the middle of Casco Viejo. The negative side of this is the noise from the streets (it didn’t bother us much but better be aware of it)
