Stylish Double Room in shared apartment in Oxfordshire

I was not able to enter the property. The self-enter key did not get me through the communal front door. 20 minutes of ringing the bell got no reply, neither did my messages. No response to any communication either via the app or via customer service.

It was fairly cheap

No shower! No lock on the door! There is an internal window that overlooks the bed. Also the man who lives there is pretty dubious. I would ABSOLUTELY NOT stay here if I were a woman on my own considering these things.

The host was great, very accommodating and very friendly.

It's a guy's apartment, it was clean and adequate for a guy but not really suitable females. The place was clean enough for me, however my daughter felt a bit uncomfortable. Whilst the bathroom had been cleaned, it was old and in a poor condition e.g. no shower, no door locks, no curtain, or door hook to hang towels, clothes or any other dry or wet accessories. The bedroom was very comfy but the windows were falling apart. As we were leaving, i thought it would be nice to open the windows and curtains to get some fresh air in the place. After spending 10 mins trying to get it opened, i realised just how unstable it was and thus spent another 30 mins trying to close it. Similar stories with the kitchen and front room. It was an above average "Guy" cleanly place but below average by most "Female" standards (i.e. if you weren't looking you would not have seen anything. However, if you moved any furniture, dropped something under the sofa or decided to hunt for an alternative plug socket, you would realise that a guy cleaned the place (I.e. only cleaned the visible dirt) Whilst its hard to make an old place look new, a minor suggestion would be to stock the kitchen with some basic necessities e.g. milk, coffee, tea, sugar etc. These little touches go a long way. Apart from that like I said, the host was great, very accommodating and friendly. If I ever need to return to Oxford again on my own, I would go back there, it's worth the money.

The room was dirty, it smelled of smoke and could not even be locked. Judging from all the hair and dirt on it, it was obvious that the bedcovers were not changed. Additionally, the bathroom was disgusting. There is only a bathtub with no showerhead. Overall we did not want to touch anything or even be there.

Exactly what I expected at this price. Also, the owner is very friendly and helpful
