RIAD CHANT D'ETOILES tadighoust

Riad Chant d'étoiles is located in Tadighoust. Tadighoust is a small quiet village at the beginning of a magnificent valley, neglected by the guides and most tourist, but it is just as beautiful as the much publicized (rightly, it must be admitted) Todhra and Dades. The riad is located in the middle of an oasis with thousands and thousands of date palm trees. Palm trees are my favorite trees, so the walk in the oasis was like a walk in heaven for me! The sun started to set, it was cool, no wind, and so serene. The silence was only broken by the occasional braying of a donkey, and once for the call to prayer at sunset, sounding from the speakers from all the mosques in the area. The call for prayer was also the sign for me that I should make getting back to the riad a priority, as there are absolutely no street lights in this village. Leila, the chef, cooked us a FANTASTIC three course dinner. Appetizers: No clue what it all was. The chef explained it to us in French, but my French is pretty poor. Despite not knowing what it was, it tasted AMAZING! The stuff in the silver bowl tasted a little like humus. If it indeed was humus, then it was the best humus I’ve EVER had! Main course: lam tajine with prunes that were stuffed with walnuts. Tasted also fantastic! We had ice cream as desert, but I had not taken a picture of that.

A remote and peaceful location in the Palmeraie (Palm Oasis). Lovely host (Martine). Beautifuil garden setting, where we had a great dinner and breakfast. 2 friendly dogs.

We had booked the room with a balcony, but there was A/C (as was shown in the description). So we moved to a smaller room which had A/C but no balcony. The bathroom was very dark (all black). The house could do with some maintenance (eg there was cracked glass in several of the doors).

Chant D'etoiles is a beautiful riad tucked away in an unassuming town. It was thoughtfully decorated and felt so cozy. The room we stayed in was large, private, and we felt immediately at home. We had a semi private balcony so we could sit outside and enjoy the view of the palms and listen to the wildlife. I had a walk through the farms and the town, it feels like it hasn't changed from years ago! Martínne was so kind. My partner was having stomach problems and she went out specifically to buy some medicine and made him rosemary tea. She even ate dinner with me so I wouldn't have to eat alone. Luckily her English is 100% better than my French, and we had a nice conversation lasting until later in the night! The dinner was so good, Leala is a wonderful cook! I recommend it. If you find yourself in the area you should stay!

A little hot at night, but we slept with the windows open and it was fine.

We stopped here on the way from Fés to Skoura and can resume that we would have liked to stay a few days longer at Riad Chant d'Étoiles. The accommodation is located in the quiet oasis of Tadighoust near Goulmima and very easy to reach by car. It is a modern refurbished Kasbah with spacious and bright rooms and comfortable lounge areas, both indoors and outdoors. Our room was on the upper floor and was easily accessible via a wide staircase. Bathroom also was spacious and hot water was working quite well. The very tasteful, practical and cosy furnishings are remarkable and make the house a real feel-good place. The hostess is very cordial and also speaks passable English, so that communication was very pleasant and easy. We also had dinner here, a large portion of lemon chicken and an excellent salad, all freshly prepared for us. Breakfast was also decent. We didn't use the pool as it was still quite fresh in April. We really enjoyed the short stay and would definitely stay here a second time and more long to explore the beautiful surroundings.

Everything. We enjoyed a great one night stopover.

Better signage to the property would have helped, but apart from that we were more than happy.

The chef was wonderful with both the evening mean and breakfast exceeding expectations. The riad is beautifully decorated with lots of art and design details. And our hostess, Martine, could not have been more accommodating. Our stay was a highlight of our trip to Morocco. The chef even conjured an excellent ice cream dessert upon request.

Getting there is a bit of a trial if you are driving. And the wifi is spotty but the overall experience more than made up for the drawbacks.
