Estate Houses at Carberry Tower

House size and layout were ideal for our family group. House was warm and comfortable and there was lots of hot water available. The location is great for exploring the East Lothian coastline and interior. The grounds of the main house are great for exploring. Outside space at the house would be great in summer and in winter the hot tub was a welcome addition.

Unfortunately, cleanliness was a big issue. Provision of sufficient and appropriate utensils was a minor issue. Utensils were handled in part at the time. Compensation was given afterwards based on sustained complaints regarding the cleanliness. After investigation by the management I am assured that improved protocols and training are now in place for the housekeeping staff so that cleanliness should not be an issue going forward.

Location and garden

Frying pans,pots and chopping board scratched very badly. Taken to reception who tried to tell me it was spices and safe to use. As it was weekend no replacement. Bought my own in near supermarket. Broken outside lights, repaired during the stay. No firewood prepared, empty basket and fire not set up. Quite a few webs on ceiling but I understand it's in the woodland location.

Location is a bit out of town and closest shops so a car is essential but this suited us perfectly for a getaway and the hotel next door provided good back-up facilities if we ever needed it. Check-in was at the hotel next door so it was quite easy, though perhaps it could be made slightly more obvious on the reservation/confirmation state where this should be done. House was spacious, well equiooed and quite clean for a house rental.

Location was great, house was excellent and easy to live in.

Small thing- Kitchen utensils were a bit sparse

The house is perfect for a family or friend retreat! Huge spaces perfect for three families, each with its own bathroom. Living spaces are wide and comfortable. Kitchen is new and fully equipped. spacious bedrooms and clean bathrooms. We did not tried the hot tub outside because we didn’t brought our swimsuits! Staff friendly and welcoming. Cannot recommend more! Thank you!
