River Point Cabana at Arugambay

Quiet jungle setting near a slow-moving river. The only noises are birds chirping, chants five times a day from the mosque down the trail, the lone attendant sweeping the dirt and occasionally talking on his phone

You get what you pay for, but here you don't even get that. Here's what you get: Long walks down a crooked, mostly dirt and debris alley, unlit at night. A hut with porous walls and no screens on the windows. A mosquito net with holes in it. An entrance to the bathroom that is too low so that you hit your head on it. No door on that undersized bathroom entrance. No AC, just a noisy fan. A sticky door, difficult to open. Temperamental internet that doesn't always work A filthy floor. No soap in the bathroom. A not very absorbent towel. No chair in the bedroom.

Very rustic vibes. Close to all the restaurants, coffee shops, beach, and bars.

Cabanes indépendantes dans un coin tranquille de Arugam bay. Coin extérieur avec petite terrasse privée. Hote serviable qui nous a aidé pour la location de notre planche de surf et dans le choix de restaurants.

Salle de bain un peu vétuste et sombre. Mais tout à fait OK pour un court séjour.

The cabanas are simple but ok, set in the calm part of Arugam Bay. The owner and his son are very friendly and welcoming.

something to note for fellow tall travellers: The beds are a little short

Die Bungalows sehen von außen ganz süß aus.

Das Bett ist leider sehr kurz und hat am Fußende eine Erhöhung, ich bin 196cm groß und habe nicht ins Bett gepasst. Das Zimmer ist sehr dunkel und etwas stickig. Das Bad sehr rustikal und das Wasser hat einen komischen Geschmack / Geruch, was beim duschen unangenehm sein kann. Für eine Nacht okay, aber für einen längeren Aufenthalt nicht so geeignet.
