1bedroom duplex beach apartment

Gute Lage, weitestgehend ruhig.

Schlüssel schwer auffindbar. Host nicht erreichbar. Schlösser alle kaum bzw. schwer schliessbar. Kaputte Wasserleitung (Boiler) i.d.Küche mit Gefahr von elektrischen Stromschlag. Fotos liegen vor. Stromausfall an einem Tag (Sicherung selbst gefunden). Mieser alter Sonnenschirm. Ungepflegt Terrasse. Zwei Wochen und nur 2 Handtücher p.P. lagen vor.

We had to look for the keys all over the place, guessing where the keys were. We tried to call Miss Claudia, but she never return our call, until we finally found then at the end of the apartments. Very poor service renderer by Miss Claudia. Luckily we met a lovely neighbor that allowed us to use hoe phone & bathroom until we were able to get into the unit

The attitude of Miss Claudia, lack Of communication. Even the nice neighbor left her 2 messages about us waiting for her to call & tell us which lockbox it was & where it was located & she rcvd no call back

We had a mixed experience over 9 days of renting this apartment in August 2024. The positives: If you want to be in the centre of Carvoeiro the apartment is in a great location. You do get some noise from the restaurants and bars but this stops around midnight. I think Carvoeiro is a great place to stay on the Algarve, it's 30 mins from lots of great places and beaches, at night you have some nice bars and restaurants without driving. The upstairs terrace is nice to sit on for meals and you sneak a lovely view of the sea. The apartment has air conditioning but we never needed it even in August. I was concerned about parking but we always managed to find space on the road the apartment is on.

The negatives: On arrival the apartment was not clean, especially the bathroom and the fridge, which is showing signs of age. The downstairs terrace was very dirty. If it had been clean and with a couple of sunbeds etc. we would have used it. I contacted the host and they responded offering to get cleaners to come again but by this time we had already cleaned the apartment ourselves. The only clothes rack for drying was old and rusty, the host did replace this for us. Bed linen and towels were supposed to be changed half way through our stay, this did not happen until our 2nd last day. The quality of the towels and linen was average, as was the quality of the mattresses and pillows. The kitchen is poorly appointed with a mish mash of knives and cutlery we had to buy things like a colander/drainer. The key for the entry gates sticks which can be quite frustrating. Overall, once we had cleaned the apartment, it was adequate for our needs. We knew it was not modern and that was fine but for the price you pay in August we had expected it to be much cleaner and better serviced.

The location was amazing so close to the beach, restaurants, and bars. There was no need to get ubers or transport everything was walking distance.

The property was excellent value for money. I have no complaints about the property.
