2BR Central Reykjavík Apartment

They had the apartment ready early for us, which was great! I really appreciated that being we are traveling with young children. The apartment was clean, had all cooking utensils, bowls, cups, plates, etc. Everything was in good condition and worked good. They also work with the bakery next door (Brikk) to give a 10% discount on items there. This made breakfast very easy.

My ONLY issue with this apartment is it was HOT. The main radiator in the living room does not turn off (well, it indicates it is off, but it still produces heat, it seems like a faulty valve) every other radiator does stopped producing heat when turned completely off, so basically when we were in the apartment, the porch door and windows were open. With the windows and doors open it became much more comfortable. We generally keep our house around 70F and this was too hot for us.

Nice sofa, comfortable mattress, good locatiom

Soft features like towels and bedding were minimal, well-loved and spartan. Dirty dishes in dishwasher, insufficient toilet paper, no paper towel for cleaning (even when we requested some, we were told no). Odd check-in process to get key at bus depot. Radiators were off but still sent out heat. Felt a bit like student housing and not what I was expecting based on the price and reviews.

2nd Floor warning, with no elevator would have been helpful to know, as grandma had a more difficult time.

Great location, fantastic off road secure parking. Apartment was lovely and warm and short walk to Bus stop #9 for the Tour Bus pick up. We walked all around central Reykjavik from the apartment. Fantastic bakery downstairs which does fresh pizza dough too.

Spic and span clean on arrival. Was toasty warm too. Everything worked as it should. Kitchen was well stocked with crockery, cutlery and utensils. Silver foil, cling fim salt and pepper plus tea bags. Plenty of loo rolls, towels and bedding. Spacious too. Loved the bakery next door although we didn't realise until the last day we could get a 10% discount due to being next door. The apartment was better in person than the photos suggested. Pictures made it look smaller and more basic so we were pleased when we walked in.

Would have benefited from having a curtain up by the front door for added privacy and cosyness.
