Lodge Yama No Manimani - Nature Stay in Okushiga Kogen

Dear Masa-san, It has been a week since I left your place and I am still thinking how extra-ordinary it was!! Everything was at its place, organised, clean and so well thought through. My room was very comfortable - love the floor heating! The diners you cooked were amazing, great food and a full 5 courses menu every night - it was absolutely incredible!! I enjoyed how welcoming you were, your advice and friendship. Thank you SO MUCH for this experience, I would do it again in heart-beat. Special mention for your hifi system and collection of vinyls (who would have thought you could find this at Okushiga :-)), the dry room (which warms your ski boots for the morning), and the private onsens - I thoroughly enjoyed those. Honestly, if I could give you 6 starts, I would. Your place is THE place to stay at Shiga-Kogen. I hope I will come back soon. Sayonara, Matt

Amazing lodge close to ski lifts in Okushiga. We will be back again!

Literally there is nothing I can fault

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Okushiga Lodge Yama no Manimani. It is a beautiful lodge run by husband and wife, Masa and Maki. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and beds and rooms are very comfortable and cosy. They generously catered for my vegan diet with Maki making the most delicious meals. There is also a small guest kitchen and lounge if you’d like to make your own simple meals. The lodge has a lovely quiet ambience with Masa’s beautiful music playing softly in common areas. It is about 100m easy walk to the bottom of the chairlift.

The only thing I didn’t like was having to leave!

Excellent meals and super clean. The private onsens were a highlight of each day. The common area is also nice. Masa was a great host. Being able to walk to the lifts was great too.

Beautiful guest house, lovely location. Very comfortable and clean. Masa and his family prepared lovely meals (at additional costs) and breakfast.

Nothing at all, it was perfect. But note that there is no transport after the last ski/ resort bus, so if you do not have a car it is wise to plan for meals (either book in with Masa or shop prior), as there is not much around within walking distance.

Clean, warm and homely The food was incredible! Masa san even followed us to the snow monkey park with our luggage when black cat wasn’t able to deliver our bags in time.

Location is superb. Minutes away from the ski lift. Cost like a home environment. The food prepared by the host is scrumptious.
