Egypt Mill Hotel and Restaurant

Beautiful venue. Breakfast was amazing!

Lovely stay in great comfortable rooms. All the staff were extremely friendly. Had an evening meal in restaurant which was very good as was the breakfast. A plus for us was being able to park at the premises.

Loved the old fashioned ambience of the property. Nicely situated within walking distance of small shopping centre, large garden centre and walking trail

The room could have been a little bit cleaner. Tea/coffee marks on the dresser, that needed a damp cloth, obvious dust on picture frames in en-suite. Niggly, but nothing else to complain about! 🙂

The hotel is based around a converted water Mill that has been done to an exceptional standard retaining the beautiful characteristics of its past. Couple that with the wonderful staff and lovely food made our stay absolutely perfect.

The breakfast we had was great - only slight downside was there was no toaster. I'm sure toast would have been available to order but would have been nice to do our own

The location and the building.

We booked a superior room and were charged the price of a superior room. However the room we got (Room 14) in the main building is not a superior room. There is even a previous review on Booking talking about Room 14 being a double room. A superior room is stated to have wooden flooring, a large bed and updated bathroom. The room we got was tiny, carpeted, and the bathroom was extremely dated and dirty. I guess there is a reason why there are absolutely no photos in any of the listings of the double room bathrooms, because they are horrible. Additionally, when we contacted the Booking customer support about this, they were unable to come to an agreement with the property. So just be aware that if you book a nicer room for a higher price, you might get a downgrade and they will still take your money. This falls foul of advertising standards and regulations as we have been clearly falsely advertised a product, charged for it and received something completely different. We will make sure to never stay here again.
