Poolside Boutique room in Bukit Cottage

Set in the most beautiful location on the edge of the jungle with a gorgeous sunset. The room was decorated simply but really well and it looked out at the pool and garden. The host made delicious dinner (extra cost) and breakfast. It was a great place to stay away from Bajo. Would stay again.

Noises of animals but that’s almost unavoidable in Indonesia

Laurent has built an amazing house. Its very well built with great detail. The view is fantastic! It gave us glimpse of how beautiful Flores really is

We loved everything! Its good to note that there is no WiFi and actually no connection at all. Also there is only a cold shower and no airconditioning but this was no problem at all for us, just good to know.

Amazing stay and fantastic experience. What an absolute delight it was to stay at room Kalimatan. The house is owned by Laurent- the property is newly built, finished to an excellent standard and interesting design that creates a great space that fully integrates with the countryside. All this within easy reach of the more busy and touristic town of Labuan Bajo. We chose to stay here after a 1,200 KM trip around the island and before heading back to Labuan Bajo and we are so pleased that we did. There is a true saying in Flores and that is that guests are welcomed with open arms and treated like the people’s family. That’s a true description of the hospitality that we received, that went well beyond our expectations. Our room was spacious and the view from the terrace was spectacular particularly at sunset. The bed was so comfortable, we slept with the doors open, there was no need for the mosquito net provided and we enjoyed the gentle breeze and fresh air. The property is rural and consequently there is limited choice of restaurants within easy reach, but this is not by any means a problem. On our first nights stay Laurent cooked us a delicious pasta meal and on the second night we were treated to a BBQ of fish and rice cooked and prepared by Damas. Furthermore Damas welcomed us to a special night of local music played with his hand made guitar which is a night we will long remember.

We arrived at the property on a scooter. The only negative is the road leading to the property and it was extremely difficult to reach. Having said that Laurent did help us and this slight challenge would not stop us from staying here again. We would suggest contacting Laurent to assist when you arrive as on the day of our arrival we really did struggle and we are experienced riders.
