Mulan Guest House with Forest Bathtub

Good: value for money. Not that bad: Need to walk a bit from the main Cenang street, no landmark on Grab yet so have to use the motel just outside. Bad: Wifi is powered using a mobile dongle so it's slow and unreliable.

Comfortable, nice decor, close to the beach and restaurants.

Daily (very) early wake up by the rooster. Few battles with ants, smell of hen house and burned trash from the neighbourhood.

The space was really clean with a nicely done up interior and great facilities (i.e., washing machine, dryer, equipped kitchen). The rooms were comfortable too. The proximity to the beach and a variety of restaurants was also super great. There was also a vacuum to help keep the sand mess under control. We did have a great time in the house and would still revisit knowing what we know.

Firstly, grab couldnt idenitfy the address from the airport, so we ended up lost for a while. Luckily, the host was helpful to direct us, but we did take about 20 minutes to locate it walking along the road with our luggage. Although we paid for 5 people, the extra mattress provided was very thin and without a blanket. The space is also a bit smaller than expected. The washing machine also empties into the bathroom, so as much as you may try to get sand out of your clothes before washing, it's still going to end up making the floor sandy. The blinds in the room were also very hard to manuever. Even though we were very careful, we unfortunately snapped one of the blinds' small mechanisms. The host tried to get us to pay for it (rm200 ??) but that wasn't in the policy, so he respectfully withdrew the request. Overall, i still would say the host and listing are great, though. Just these small thongs that may affect the experience.

The property is in prime location and has everything in walking distance. The host was very welcoming and arranged all our day activities.
