Private Studio in Hakalau, Hawaii

I loved the little studio. My favorite was the bathroom - the rainfall shower and rock tile were so luxurious feeling. It was very clean, the kitchenette while small, met all my needs and the host made sure to tell me to get takeout or bring food that was premade since there were not restaurants nearby. Location is north of Hilo about 20 minute drive. Private, separated from the main house. Would stay again, perfect for a couple or solo traveler.

Nuestra estancia aquí ha sido simplemente perfecta. Desde el primer momento, los propietarios nos hicieron sentir como en casa: atentos, amables y siempre dispuestos a ayudar. El lugar es muy acogedor y cómodo, con todo lo necesario para una estancia agradable. El wifi funciona de maravilla, algo que agradecimos mucho. Además, nos dieron recomendaciones excelentes: desde spots para surfear hasta playas, rutas y lugares para visitar. Gracias a sus consejos, pudimos aprovechar al máximo nuestro tiempo y descubrir rincones que de otra forma no habríamos conocido. La ubicación es ideal como base para explorar tanto Hilo como el norte de la isla, con fácil acceso a playas, cascadas y naturaleza.

Todo fue muy bien. Un alojamiento que combina comodidad, hospitalidad y una localización perfecta para disfrutar de la zona. ¡Muy recomendable!

Después de nuestra primera estancia, quedamos tan encantados con el alojamiento y sus anfitriones que no dudamos en volver. La experiencia ha sido igual de excelente, confirmando todo lo que habíamos valorado la primera vez: comodidad, limpieza y una hospitalidad excepcional. Los propietarios son personas maravillosas, siempre atentos y dispuestos a compartir recomendaciones que marcan la diferencia en el viaje: desde playas tranquilas hasta spots perfectos para surfear o rincones de naturaleza que no aparecen en las guías. El alojamiento es muy cómodo, acogedor y está perfectamente equipado para sentirse a gusto desde el primer momento. La conexión wifi funciona sin problemas y la ubicación resulta ideal para explorar tanto Hilo como el norte de la isla, con fácil acceso a playas, cascadas y paisajes espectaculares.

Beautiful nature right on your doorstep—tropical flowers, birds. The location is very quiet. A clean and comfortable studio, convenient shower cabin. A small but functional kitchen. Very nice hosts.

The air conditioner is noisy, though most of the time it's not really needed. The location is indeed remote, so there's no cell phone service in the area. This was fine with me, as the host provides free high-speed Wi-Fi, but for some, it might be a problem.

Dark sky area for stargazing.

The room is nice and very well equipped, with for instance a wireless phone charger. The kitchenette takes little space but has lot of items, from a microwave and coffeemaker to a toaster and kettle (the first we came across at the Hawaiian islands) and even a can opener. A folder offers advice on activities to do in the region and there is a nice walk (2.2 km) from the room to the beach close by.

Phone and data reception are very poor in the region, but that's no problem when close to or in the room, where there is a good WiFi connection.

The stargazing from here is incredible. We liked the location, not too far from Hilo, but we stopped for groceries on the way. It’s a bit far for snorkeling, but it was a great base to see Volcanos and hike. Comfortable. We slept well. A slightly bigger table in the room could be helpful. We did use the kitchenette supplies. There is a little stovetop, and we made oatmeal. Coffee and tea were available. Helped us save on breakfast

A slightly bigger table to prepare and eat a light meal would have been better. There are a lot of fruit flies too -if you leave the window open
