Redhill Town Centre Garden Flat

Close proximity to town.

No on site parking. Garden needed some TLC. Bathroom, especially the shower, required a deep clean. Oven needed a good clean. Only 1 saucepan worked on induction cook top. Mattress protector was stained.

Flat was in a great location easy reach of town centre and station. All amenities needed for a stay

The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The shower was good. There was a good supply of plates, bowls, glasses etc

I booked the venue because it was a garden flat and I expected it to be at ground level. It isn't. There are 20 steps down to the flat from the parking area. I saw a photo of a parking bay marked 1 and assumed this was for flat 1, which I had booked. It is apparantly reserved for the upstairs flat, which I didn't realise. The owner was very good and spoke to the people that booked this flat who said they didn't need it. However, due to a very large van in the next bay and a small wall on the flat side, if you parked there you couldn't open the doors of the car properly. I ended up having to park up the road and walk back to the flat late in the evening. The owner paid for the parking - which was great - but I would not have chosen this venue had I known about the stairs and parking issues

Spacious clean property, well maintained and filled with useful kitchen and other equipment. Good quality bedding and towels. Good bathroom.

No parking space (we should have checked before booking), lots of steps to front door which made accessibility difficult. Mattress was too firm for us (may suit others)

The bathroom sink is very clogged. Needs to be cleaned and checked. Kitchen stuff like glasses, knives etc are running low. Perhaps broken before and not replaced?

The location was perfect with only minutes away from the town center and railway station with great connections to London and the south coast. The apartment was lovely and warm with the access to two good radiators especially with-it being wintertime. I liked the two levels separating the sleeping area from the kitchen diner. It was very clean, and the cleaner came in twice and did a great job each time and refreshed the sheets and towels. Rena was a great host and checked in on me on a number of occasions. Rena kindly put up a little Xmas tree to give me a festive feel during my stay. She responded very quickly and was very accommodating with my queries and requests.

The garden at the front of the apartment was accessible by other people staying in other apartments above. They would walk across the garden patio to exit via the garden gate and onto the main road directly. From the apartment profile on Booking.com I was under the impression that this area was private and only accessible to me. Due to this, I didn't feel I could put the closer bar on the gate overnight which would have given me a feeling of more security being a single female. I had to leave the curtains closed most of the day otherwise people could look into the apartment easily from the patio. The towels were a little discolored and tired. The mattress was extremely soft (which is a personal thing) but it gave me back ache as my stay continued. On the last few days of my stay, there was a lot of thumping noises coming from the apartment above which sounded like young children running around which was a bit irritating especially when it was heard later in the evenings around 9.30 to 10pm.
