Location good and decor nice but done in the cheap

Der Vermieter, Adil, betreibt auch das Restaurant unterhalb des Apartments und war deshalb vor Ort und ansprechbar, als wir eintrafen. Hat uns auch direkt freundlich begrüßt und geholfen, die E-Bikes für die Nacht sicher unterzustellen. Als sich herausstellte, dass es in seinem Restaurant kein Bier gibt hat er uns auch sofort ein nahe gelegenes Restaurant empfohlen (das sich dann auch noch als Volltreffer entpuppte). Die Wohnung, die einen am oberen Ende der Treppe erwartet, ist groß und hochwertig ausgestattet, mit einer Terrasse von der man (ok, über die Straße hinweg) auf das Meer schaut. Küche, Esszimmer- und Wohnbereich gehen in einander über und sind sehr groß. Die drei Schlafzimmer allesamt groß und bequem. Leider hatte ich Probleme mit meinem Fahrrads und benötigte eine Reparatur. Da am Folgetag aufgrund eines Sturmes die Bahn nicht fuhr hat uns Adil geholfen, mit einem geliehenen Transporter zu unserem nächsten Ziel Stonehaven zu kommen. Einmal mussten wir sogar umdrehen, weil der Sturm einen großen Baum umgeknickt hatte, der jetzt quer über der Straße lag. Danke Adil, auch auf diesem Wege noch einmal, für Deine Hilfe.

Es war alles so, wie wir es erwartet hatten, oder sogar besser.

The apartment was lovely. All rooms were large and all were well decorated. All internal doors were of good quality - as were the fixtures and fittings for them. Both bathrooms and the kitchen were all classy/modern looking. Loved that we had the balcony with Sea Views! We were in Arbroath to attend a show at the theatre and have dinner beforehand at The Old Boatyard. Both places were within a short walking distance from the apartment - ideal location! Bumped into the owner as we arrived and he recommended Cafe7 next morning for breakfast (and said he'd get us a 10% discount). He was as good as his word. The full Scottish breakfast was superb - and extremely reasonably priced (even before taking the discount into account). We would not hesitate to book this place again next time we are in Arbroath.

This isn't a criticism - just an observation that might increase bookings in future... The 3 bedrooms are all set up with double beds. As we were 4 ladies, 2 of us ended up sharing a bed (lucky for us, these two didn't mind, but I know some people - myself included - don't like sleeping in a bed with anyone other than their partner). Perhaps one of the rooms could be changed from double bed to 2x single beds? Although on occasions, our group of 4 can go up to 5 or 6. In that case, I think the largest room in this apartment could even (easily) be changed to hold 3 single beds. Like I said - definitely NOT a criticism, perhaps just a way to appeal to people who are travelling with friends rather than partners?

Location ideal and convenient. The accommodation has everything you needed and was very spacious. We went to the restaurant downstairs and the food was lovely. Would definitely stop here again
