"Disappointing apartment"

1.0

Great views from the balcony and plenty of light in the flat. Comfortable beds.

Damaged furniture, unstable dining table, hole in coffee table, burnt area on outdoor table, cigarette burns on outdoor chair, radiator loose on wall, rubbish on balcony, broken, stained and damaged blinds, unlockable door to balcony, stains and curled up corner on rug, poor water pressure so shower was not useable. When we booked the advert said there was a pool table but this was not in the flat.

"Nice location but has issues"

4.0

We liked the city centre location as it was convenient to get around. Being on West Street, we weren't spoilt for choice when it came to food or entertainment. The apartment was on the eighth floor so we also had a good view of the city.

Though the apartment was advertised as accommodating three people, it was quite clearly intended for two people; the living room had a two seater sofa and the dining table could only fit two people at a time. The kitchen toaster was not working and the cleaning products were not to our satisfaction: the antibacterial wipes were dry and the antibacterial spray was practically empty and so unable to be used, with no replacements in the cleaning cupboard. Additionally, many plates in the kitchen cupboards were still dirty. Having stayed on a Bank Holiday weekend, it was understandably quite loud on the street below. Unfortunately, the seal of the window in the single bedroom was broken and so the noise from the street came through clearly, which made it difficult to sleep. Also making it difficult to sleep was the blind in the single bedroom; as it was translucent, the room was flooded with daylight early in the morning. Our biggest complaint is that the water pressure in the bathroom and kitchen sink was so low that we could barely use the facilities. Showering took a ridiculously long time and the inconsistency of the pressure and temperature of the water in the kitchen sink meant a member of our group had to be treated for a burn to the hand when boiling hot water shot out of the sink whilst she was washing up. We contacted the landlord about this issue, who asked us to stay in the apartment for the evening so he could enter to fix the issue and replace the broken toaster. With this in mind, we cancelled our evening plans but he did not show up, or respond to our emails or phone calls. We called again the following morning but merely got through to his voicemail. The next time we heard from him, he did not explain his absence but simply told us the instructions for checking out via an email.

"Inconvenient check in but nice apartment once tgat hurdle over with."

5.0

Very clean. Warm. Good facilities in kitchen.

No live tv. Couldn’t watch snooker. Awful experience getting in. Have to go to a shop for key. They couldn’t get fob working. Back and forth a few times. No one available to talk on phone. Had to reply on messages through booking.com. Eventually told to go in by car park. Took over an hour to get into property at midnight!! Not a nice experience with a nite club next door. When I messaged owner about it he didn’t even acknowledge the message, instead giving me checking out details which I already had.

The property was clean and tidy - the location was amazing as it was close to a lot of the night life, food and not too far of a walk to train station.

"Highly recommend, great host!"

8.0

Host was excellent, great communication, made key pick up & drop off very easy for us. Great size for my 17 year old swimmer and myself, fabulous views and pool table a hit! Lovely touch with coffee and tea and toiletries in the bathroom.

Main thing to be aware of is the noise from the nightclubs on the street below at 1.30am and 4am closing times. Keep the bedroom windows closed and it's fine, open the balcony door instead for fresh air.

"Disappointing"

4.0

Superbly equipped kitchen - very well equipped, plenty of room for home cooking, or eating takeaway Great view of the city from the balcony, espec first thing in the morning, or at night.

Single room bed damaged to the point that is nearing collapse. This needs to be fixed before the next people use it, otherwise potential for serious injury! Very big and spacious bathroom. Shower head mount is slightly damaged, in that it's not possible to adjust the height of the mount, but this didn't cause too much of an issue during our stay. Two of the four heaters in the apartment are not working, and the other two are making a bit of an unpleasant smell whilst on. Not great during winter, and would suggest they are all checked to make sure they aren't emitting anything unpleasant or toxic. The single room was freezing at night due to the radiator not working. Unsure as to why we couldn't make use of the underground car parking space allocated to the apartment. We had to park up in the nearby multi-storey car park 5 minutes walk away, costing us an extra £105 across the weekend, carrying around all of our luggage when two of us have walking difficulties. Pool table was misleading? The photos made it seem like a full sized pool table which it is not. There is also no space to use the pool table. Which was one of the reasons we booked. The flooring between the kitchen and living space is uneven which is not great when disabled people stay. Although this place can sleep 3 people the rest of the flat is only set up for two. A two seater sofa, two dining chairs and table set up for two, and only two seats on the balcony. (We did mention 3 people on the booking) Blind in the single room is pointless as it is completely see through.
