I'm surprised that the listing does not include photos of the rooms because ours was very pleasant. The bed was very comfortable with a soft mattress. Breakfast (coffee, juice and cornetti) was most welcome, and eating it on the terrace with the beautiful view over the Val di Comino was enjoyable. Parking was not a problem - the piazza was closed for a festa the evening we arrived but there is a car park not far away up the hill where we were always able to find a spot. Our host Cesidio and Francesca who brought the breakfast in the morning were both pleasant and helpful. On departure Cesidio presented us with a bottle of his family wine which was very nice when we opened it later. We left an item behind in the room and Cesidio and Francesca dealt with it very helpfully.

The Wi-Fi did not work. Apparently they had recently had the internet upgraded so hopefully that was just teething problems which will be resolved soon. Otherwise, nothing really to complain about. The "coffee machine" turned out to be a stove-top percolater but that's OK. Air-conditioning would have been nice (we were there in August) but I accept that it would only really be needed for a few weeks a year, and we knew that there was no aircon when we booked.

One of the best hotel rooms ever stayed in. Amazing renovations. Most amazing views. Lovely customer service. We will come back!

Quality in everything

This was a random choice of location to avoid the heat and crowds of the city and Picinisco exceeded all expectations. An area that we did not know but that has a long, diverse and very interesting history. We ate excellent local food and drank with the friendly locals in the square. The suite combined the charm of the very old building with all the comfort of a modern room. The design is clever and retains the character of the building. The rooms are located steps from the main square but are quiet with idyllic views of the valley. The host Cesidio is passionate about the region and has incredible local knowledge. We were privileged to visit his vineyard and learn about a grape that exists only there and sample great organic wines. We plan to return soon.
