The apartment was fine, but it was old and wasnt properly cleaned . If you have to sleep in the living room it will be very noisy from main street.

USThe location is a gem. While a short walk away from the heart of Reykjavik, it's one street over from Parking Zone 1 - which could be expensive - but you park in Zone 2. You can basically walk everywhere from here. The highlight of the experience was the genuine hospitality and helpfulness of the proprietor - Mustafa - who was uber responsive and made sure we had everything we needed, including resupplying us as necessary. He even left our kids a chocolate bar each - a lovely gesture, especially around Easter.
The windows seem to be a bit older - so it could be noisy as it faces a major street - but it wasn't overpowering or anything. The apartment smelled nice, but the stairwell smelled like smoke - which, of course, Mustafa has no control over. The hot water smells a bit - much like the rest of Iceland that sources hot water directly from geothermal sources. Ignore the smell, take a bath, it's good for you.
