Cosy cottage in town close to shops

15 minute walk to beach.

The cottage is well equipped and clean.

The parking is problematic, at the side of the house you can only get a very small car, 2.2m width at the pinch points. I was unable to park on the road outside the property, as some inconsiderate person left their car over the solid white line area that is intended for the cottage parking. I have photographs. The TV can only be used if you have your own log in details that you would use at home. The shower over the bath could do with a handrail. The bath is quite high. Shanklin is quite run down, but not as bad as Sandown with it's burnt down Ocean Hotel being elevated and right on the sea front . Some of the roads and costal footpaths are inaccessible due to coastal erosion. When we first arrived at the cottage, we could hear water running, it was a faulty toilet flush box. On reporting the problem to the letting agent, this was dealt with promptly. However on our return from a day out, we discovered that the plumber had left a mess in the bathroom. Another call to the letting agent had the cleaning sorted. We really enjoyed our visit to Godshill, highly recommend. As for returning to the IOW, it's a definite no from me. A car and two passengers on the car ferry ⛴️ from Portsmouth return cost £255.

Really clean, comfortable and well equipped

Only minor issue was upstairs toilet sometimes stuck constantly refilling the cistern - that aside no issues at all

Lovely, modern, well designed, clean property, with everything that we needed for a 5 night family holiday. Good location. Dog friendly.
