Haltwhistle was lovely

BE AWARE..subsequent to me leaving my orginal review the property owners are demanding £50 for washing the bedding as they claimed we had left human excrement on the sheets and then when I challenged this they said I had not told the owner I was taking dogs. It is impossible to prove you did not do something so we are being forced to pay so please be aware if you are/ are planning to stay in this property. Anyway, this was my response to the owner: 1)I booked through Booking.com 3 adults, 1 child (age 15) and 2 pets. The property is pet friendly (Pets welcome is the definition on the web page) and I was not told I had to inform the owner that any more information would be required to be provided to the owner.2) both dogs slept in the downstairs utility room and they were not left alone at any time, accompanying the party on the Hadrians wall walk. The house did not have dog hair all over the place as a result from either of my dogs. 3) the marks on the sheets are not human excrement. One is mud and the others are from weeping blisters. I have no idea what the green stained towel is - maybe apple shampoo or Aloe Vera gel. I have tried to attach a photo showing the state of our feet during the walk but this seems to have been rejected as evidence. Your property clearly is being targeted at people visiting Hadrians Wall and having walkers stay at the property cannot be a surprise. 4) the house had no washing machine otherwise we could have washed the sheets etc during the week. 5) I could have been contacted on the Saturday and popped back to see what the issue was but no, this claim was made after I had left a review on Booking.com. Anyway, my point is that bedding and towels need to be washed between customers so where is the extra charge coming from? They are white cotton sheets and towel so need to be on a whites wash with detergent as part of you normal process. It appears to me that this is a cynical ploy to get additional money out of customers...'

Good location, clean and uncluttered.

Was a little difficult to locate. Maybe mention that it’s necessary to walk down the alley to find it.

Great location for the Haltwhistle Walking Festival! Lovely cottage with everything one needs. I appreciated the private garden.

The wifi was not entirely dependable but I was able to work remotely nevertheless.

Sehr gut ausgestattete Küche, gemütliches Wohnzimmer mit bequemen Sitzgelegenheiten. Zwei geräumige, Schlafzimmer, jeweils mit Bad. Tolle Lage: Bushaltestelle, Einkaufsmöglichkeit und einige Pubs und Restaurant fußläufig zu erreichen. Netter kleiner Außenbereich. Parken war auch kein Problem. Kostenlose Parkplätze auf der Straße, beziehungsweise beim Sainsbury Supermarkt um die Ecke.

Die Betten waren unbequem. Hier hätte man in eine bessere Qualität investieren können.

Nice clean cottage. Very friendly locals in pubs and shops good bus and train service.We parked two cars at the back behind the Comrades Club. No signs to say who the space belonged too so we asked in the club if it was OK and they said it was.

A bit hard to find even Pennine Ways the booking agent in the village didn't know where it was they had to look it up on there website but that's all.

Self catering was easy in the village. Parking was easy. The house was nice and warm, good beds (well mine was), lounge and TV good. Overall a smashing spot to stay for a few days walking along Hadrian's Wall.

Can't really think of anything to improve.
