Artist retreat near all Rochester sites

This property was clean and nice in many ways. The living area was comfortable and the kitchen was easy to use. It was pleasant to be there when it was not too hot. Wifi worked well. I did not hear the neighbors. Neighborhood is really nice.

It was very very hot outside and inside the first few days I was there. (90F degrees and humid outside) There were two window air conditioners, one in the bedroom which worked well for that space, and one in the living room, which was not very adequate to cool the rest of the space, and on top of that one could not have both on at the same time, and it takes quite a while for the conditioner to get a room cooler, and its hard to turn off one and wait for it cool off the other room so you can use it, meanwhile the first room gets too hot. So, anyway, it was hard to enjoy the whole apartment, particularly the kitchen and living areas when it was hot out. If they can get their electrical panel fixed so both conditioners can be used at once then I would give it a lot higher review. Also, be prepared to climb three flights of stairs, and use two hands for unlocking the front door every time (so its hard to carry in a lot of stuff). The bed was comfortable but it is foam, and that is a very hot material though the air conditioning was adequate in that room. I am sure the air conditioner covered up any traffic noises outside, but it also required the blackout curtains not to be closed so a lot of street light got in. Also I could not figure out how to turn on the TV, but this might be because I'm not really used to using a TV/ remote so I gave up quickly. The lock box was tricky to figure out -the combination had to be lower than I expected. I was a little surprised that there were not smaller washcloths in the bathroom.

could not use air conditioner in both sleeping spaces due to electricity problems, which was inconvenient due to the heat. The couch in the living room was quite dirty and uncomfortable. A mattress topper would have helped. An air mattress was provided but it too was dirty and the sheets didn't fit.

Convenient, location for restaurants, coffee, shops, and shopping.

Extremely noisy. Busy street in front of the property and a highway with constant traffic noise less than one block away. Also, the one bed and mattress are uncomfortable. I had booked the property for three days, but because of the noise, and lack of sleep, left after two days.

The location was a very short, pleasant walk to many restaurants and other businesses. Clean, comfortable, had everything we needed. Enjoyable stay!

Convenient location in popular part of the city. Clean and comfortable. Off-street parking is easy and convenient. The hosts are continuing to make improvements at this location. I travel to this area often and will probably book this place again.

This is not a complaint but guests should be aware that this unit is the top floor of an old house which means tight turning staircase. There is no thermostat in the apartment - the vents were all closed on my arrival. Once I opened them I was able to warm up the apartment.

it was a lovely area, very close to our route and the wedding we attended. The apt was spacious, bright, and very clean. we were very comfortable.

The only problem was that when we returned after the wedding, the internet was not working - no tv or on line services. it had been fine when we first got there, so I’m not sure what happened.

Location was perfect for the event we were attending at Memorial Art Gallery. Convenient to restaurants as well.The apartment was spacious, clean, comfortable, and affordable--just what we needed. Wish we'd remembered to take some coffee, milk, and sugar, but went to the Bakery/Cafe nearby in the morning.

Collecting the key was a new experience for me. The instructions came at the last minute (not 48 hours in advance) and before I had the wifi code. Fortunately, I was able to access email on my phone. A minor problem was with the TV (picture but no sound, despite trying everything we could). Perhaps a matter of what to do or needing instructions, and the host thanked me for letting them know about it. Only stayed 1 night and was able to watch a little Netflix on my iPad, so no biggie.
