The room is beautiful, well decorated and comfortable. The location is a bit out of the city centre (30 min walk) but worth the stay as picturesque and quiet. The owner is very friendly. She even welcomed us with a slice of cake.

The location may not be the best if not traveling by car, at night. But we managed anyway.

Nestled in the heart of a charming village, this apartment offers the best of both worlds: a beautiful exterior true to local tradition and a comfortable, modern interior. The location is ideal, just a 10-minute walk from the historic center of Domodossola, while also positioned at the entrance to Bognanco Valley, providing easy access to hiking trails that lead into the valley and the hills surrounding the city. This makes it an excellent base for both day hikes and city excursions. During renovation, the owners kept the traditional exterior but fully modernized the interior, which consists of a living room with a kitchen area and a separate bathroom. The bathroom had a shower with excellent water pressure and plenty of towels, while the kitchen was well-equipped with everything needed to cook, including a capsule coffee machine. The sofa bed was comfortable and sturdy and had more than enough space for me. The thermostat is adjustable, and despite the chilly weather during my stay, the apartment was cozy and warm. In addition to the lovely apartment, it was the warm welcome from my host, Anna, that made my stay truly unforgettable. Not only is she friendly, warm, and easy to talk to, but she also made herself available for any needs I had during my stay, even offering to drive me to places that were difficult to reach on foot. Having lived in the region for over 30 years, Anna is an invaluable source of information about everything from local history and culture to tourist activities, which was especially helpful for a spontaneous traveler like me who didn’t have any fixed plans before arriving. For hikers, Anna provides guidebooks and topographic maps from the CAI (Italian Alpine Club), perfect for choosing a day hike. In short, Anna takes hospitality very seriously and goes above and beyond the standard you would expect in most hotels or vacation rentals; she truly makes you feel at home and is passionate about sharing her love for the region.

This was a perfect stay. I didn’t want to leave, and I already can’t wait to return. Thank you so much, Anna!

Super nice host, we got along pretty well with english , some italian words and google translate. She gave us recommendations where to go hiking and offered us to take us to the city center and pick us up later. We also got a really tasty welcome drink. Anna is such a lovely lady <3

The accommodation is a little bit outside the city center, in an older part of the town, with bus connection that doesn’t run that often. Still worth to visit, especially with the river and the mountains , but good to know if you arrive by train in the middle of a hot day.

Great hospitality, good comfort, nice location and beautifully restored building. The little garden outsite is a nice touch and place to sit.

A table and chairs would have been preferable to the bathtub.

The place was brand new and had everything you needed, the kitchen also had a coffee machine and a boiler to make tea for breakfast. The owner of the facility greeted us when we arrived and gave us some information about the trekking routes nearby. She was very friendly and responded super fast to our messages. There is a parking near the apartement so we did not worry about the car. However, Domodossola city centre is a bit far by walking so the car might be useful to reach the city. If you want to go for trekking there are many paths passing directly by the street of the apartment, so you just leave the house and start walking from there. All in all we had a great stay at Via del Sale and definitely recommend :)
