Spacious Modern House with Free Parking

The property is in a lovely quiet area with some good walks and a few parks in the area for kids. Also shops and a pub in walking distance.

This property has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the property really lets it down. The majority of the items in the kitchen were dirty, the oven hadn’t been cleaned, the freezer was disgusting. Unfortunately, we couldn’t use the garden as there was a large pile of bins and rubbish in the corner which had ultimately given off a rotten smell and had maggots all over them and the patio. We had to clean the house prior to using anything. There were many stains over the sofa and chairs in the kitchen. The beds were also extremely uncomfortable. I tried messaging the company who manages the property and got no reply. It is really disappointing as you are charged a cleaning fee and this has not been done properly. It also states you get toiletries, we got the drabs of hand soap and toilet roll. The towels provided are tiny so make sure you bring your own. There is also only one wardrobe in the property to hang clothes.

The place was spacious, comfortable and not too difficult to locate. The neighbourhood was quiet and peaceful. Our stay was very pleasant and nice.

A few of the areas did contain cobwebs and spiders that the kids were scared of and had to be removed but other than that it was okay. Also, there weren't any rails or hangers in the wardrobe to be able to hang our clothes which is something that can be worked on.

Quiet location, reasonably modern, good internet & close to amenities. Beds clean. Decent value for a large family but could have been so much better with just a bit more effort.

Unfortunately, there is a lack of general maintenance, care & attention through the property that lets it down badly. Given they charge a significant 'cleaning fee' on top of the rental cost it's reasonable to expect a high standard of cleanliness - sadly that's not the case. While the basics are done (beds, toilets etc. are clean) the rest is less so. We dropped some coins which rolled under a bed - when we lifted it up it was filthy (see picture) & obviously hadn't seen a hoover or mop for months. Crockery, cutlery pots & pans all needed washed before use. Toilet fans needed cleaned. Shower seal was dirty. As a self catering property cooking utensils are provided. Unfortunately they were either dirty or damaged (again, see pictures). Grill pan was notable by it's absence & the oven could use a clean. There were rubbish bags in the garden (several), mouldy pizza in the food caddy & the garden gate did not lock. There is no hanging space in anything but one room and virtually no drawer space either - not ideal. It's also worth mentioning the check-in process which unexpectedly demands a £50 'damage wavier' (not refundable) or a £300 deposit.... along with all manner of personal details & a copy of your identification... a bit OTT if you ask me.
