Idyllic Cornish Retreat At Puffin Lodge

Log burner was great and made the accomodation lovely and warm. Everything you could need in the lodge.

Outside light didn't work. There was no information on where to put the rubbish, recycling etc.

a very quiet place to rest, well-kept, distance to places like St Michael's Mount , Kynance Cove , St Ives , Newquay or Porthcurno Beach 30minutes to 1 hour away, so perfect for us !!!

We Stayed at Puffin Lodge for a week. It was a very quiet place. The lodge was clean and equipped with all the essentials: an iron, a washing machine, and even a hair dryer. It was located within a 30-minute to an hour's drive from all the famous places to visit and was cheaper compared with places closer to the south coast, which was not an issue for us.

It's not a big deal, but it is advisable to improve the lighting. More lighting around the cooker, as it is a bit dark when you cook. Also, the light in a single room switches on to night mode, and if you used to sleep in the dark, it would be a struggle. The sofa might need to be upgraded as it is very low to sit on. We were ok, but older people would struggle to stand up.

Puffin Lodge is lovely and very well equipped. The Lodge was spotlessly clean and in a very quiet area. The staff and people who lived on the campsite next door were all really helpful. I would stay again.

Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short because the water pump on site packed up, so we had no running water. I understand a new pump will now have been fitted but we couldn't shower. We were given bottled water to make drinks and the onsite people did their best to try and fix the pump. The owners were away. Just unfortunate and we have been promised a substantial refund without quibbling. 8 miles from centre of Helston.

My son and I had a lovely extended weekend break. The property was so nice. Very well equipped. It was deceptively spacious for 2. The shower was really lovely and we had everything needed. We took our doggie, where there was a lovely large safe space to walk him either end of the day. There was also a nice area directly outside to enjoy alfresco dining. Unfortunately, we didn't have the weather for that!! Louise was very welcoming and accommodating. Location wise, close to some very beautiful beaches and the nearest main town only 15 minute drive.

Our only criticism, but really not enough to reduce the rating was that the lodge was quite dark. But a positive, made it very cosey!! I am hoping to return in the future as we have friends nearby. Thank you Louise for trusting us with our lovely lodge.

Homeliness. Easy to relax and enjoy rest.

Could do with a replacement couch- springs worn.

Limited space in bedrooms and not much storage space Hot water in kitchen not very hot for washing up even when temp control raised As two mature ladies found the sofa far too low and soft couldn't sit on it though it looked comfortable couldn't get up from it Would benefit from some thick cushions or a firmer higher seated sofa Also a non slip mat for inside shower would be helpful as base was slippy when wet and soapy and was scared of slipping when getting out of shower

What a lovely little hide away, great get away from a busy life in a rural area, would definitely stay again . There is everything you need from coffee pot to an iron and even a washing machine. Great value for money hope to see you again puffin lodge
