Entire Luxury Sliema Townhouse Steps from Beach

The host was quick to respond to our many issues/complaints. I liked being able to stay in a Malta style house. The views from the bedrooms and terrace were beautiful.

“Luxury” is not correct as a description of the property. The address provided was incorrect, I found the property by sleuthing on Google Maps. Described as 4 bed, 3 bath with walk in shower. Incorrect. 1 bedroom with ensuite, then on the same floor 1 more bedroom and a tiny bathroom. The 2 other bedrooms were on a floor with no bathroom and very precarious stairs to reach the tiny bathroom on the floor below. The only other shower was in a basement bathroom, a handheld shower over a sunken bath in a room that flooded from an unknown source. I had booked the property for 8 adults with the bedroom/bathroom ratio and placement an important factor. The cleaning standard was poor, especially the kitchen, bbq and outdoor area. We reported all this, along with a broken outdoor bench, which the manager then asked us to explain! Kitchen was very poorly stocked, including broken glasses and chipped crockery. No welcome pack of dishwasher pills etc. Cigarette stubs left in an ashtray in the lounge. The final straw was building work in the property next door, starting at 6:30am. This culminated in us returning to the property one evening and finding they had broken through the wall into our property, leaving holes in the wall and rock debris on the stairs! I understand the manager cannot control this, but it just added to the farce! I have not listed everything here, but can honestly say I have never spent as much time communicating with a property host trying to get things sorted. Whilst the response was prompt, I really don’t go on holiday to sort these things out! The host needs to check the property between bookings and make sure standards are lifted!

The rooftop balcony gives you an exceptional view of Malta, it was truly breathtaking especially at night when the sun goes down.

It has no lift and there’s 5 floors! Only joking, you get used to walking all the stairs after a while and it’s good exercise; I have no real complaints about the property.

A great location which was an easy walk to the beach and a longer but manageable walk to the ferry to Valletta. The house had good soundproofing against the street noise and building work in this busy location. Comfy beds.

We couldn't draw the curtains in the fourth bedroom. We didn't use the balconies on the top floor as the walls seemed very low, especially with children in the group. These balconies have a twist lock rather than key which meant we were unable to lock them with full piece of mind.

Everything was amazing, the owners were extremely helpful and did anything on request, one of the a/c units had a fault from the recent power cuts and they sent a technician around to fix it straight away! It’s a great, clean, large space with great sunset views
