Dookers Nook- Quirky coastal cottage Pittenweem

Spacious, newly kitted out and very comfortable cottage, conveniently located just by the pretty quayside in Pittenweem.

Perhaps need a grab rail in the shower - which was also a spacious excellent walk-in one.

Good location on a peaceful lane close to local shops, swimming spot, lovely walks and good restaurants. Easy to get the bus to other towns if you don't feel like driving.

Great location, decorated nicely, kitchen had everything we needed, comfy.

It was freezing when we arrived, would have been nice if they had turned the heating on an hour before we arrived. 4pm check in is quite late & the office closes at 5- not much time to call with problems once you have carried all your luggage up from the street. Virtual check in guide is out of date, incorrect information on how to use the heating & wifi. No warning the water from the hot tap in the bathroom is absolutely boiling- I hurt my hand & I’m very glad it was me & not my child. 10am check out is early- especially as they expect you to strip all the beds & take out the rubbish. Also they have photos of an electric heater but it’s made to look very much like a real log burner & as that is one of the reasons I booked the property it was very disappointing to find out it’s just electric. Bordering on false advertising as they especially have a photo of it on the website & list it as a fire place.

God location for touring the area. Pet friendly.

Old fashioned bathroom, kitchen and living room. Needs modernisation. Poor ventilation in kitchen when cooking, as no fan and difficult to open window. Would have preffered a secured garden area for dogs, & parking was a distance away from cottage, as busy even in November.

Loved the location next to the harbour, and all of the swimming art.

Blankets in the living room need a wash and no bathroom toiletries apart from hand soap were provided.

Location , comfort and peace

Recycling arrangements - previous occupants had incorrectly left glass in recycling outside bin. Would be better to have arrangement for all recycling rather than just paper. Unrealistic and unworkable to expect your guests to drop off recycling at local waste centre - just not going to happen on regular basis. Owners need to provide separate glass and can / plastic recycling bins and arrange emptying of these.
