Luxury on Howden

Luxury on Howden is in a good location. It is a very short walk to the lake and 20 minutes to the town. The bed is excellent and the space stylist. Breakfast is very good. The information provided by Tracey was very useful.

On our first night we found the accommodation chilly. There is a heat pump in the lounge but it and the bedroom are large rooms with high ceilings. The option to use a heater in the bedroom would be nice. As mentioned in other reviews a sink in the kitchenette area would be a huge advantage.

Good choices of cereal and fruit...

Two friendly cats welcomed me genuinely. Top quality comfy bed. Temptation to come back again to stay longer to enjoy walking tens of good trekking tracks around Te Anau, all the way to Milford Sound..

Good location on a quiet street

Very strong smell of mould coming from the bathroom which was very close to the bed. It was a rainy day and the ranch slider was full of water which started leaking all over the carpet. No running water or sink in the kitchenette made it tricky to prepare anything.

Very nice place and a super friendly cat

Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Slice of toast and a bit of cereal, need to ask the host for extra milk if staying multiple nights

Loved everything. Amazing place.

Everything -but particularly the very comfy recliners and large rooms. There was substantial breakfast provided cereals, spreads, coffee pods, satchels tea juice milk and bread. Extremely comfortable bedding and luxuriant bathroom with supplies. Large windows westward facing give mountain views while warming the large B&B. Double glazing for quietness. Many windows to open and you can often hear waves on the shores of the lake (at the end of Howden street) Aircon available if needed.

No kitchen as such. But when out touring it wasn't issue as we weren't home for lunch. Night dinner could be accomplished with toaster and microwave. But with a multitude of restaurant options available and the local te Anau diary doing a yummy fish and chips and/or Chinese and Asian dishes neither of us felt any desire to cook. Bbq is available.

The spaciousness. Everything supplied.
