Uluwatu Surf Ranch - Ocean View Hacienda

The photos don't do this villa justice! Such a beautiful, peaceful spot. Everything was so clean and the rooms are gorgeous, all airconditioned and each with its own bathroom. The pool is lovely and so refreshing to swim in, we spent most afternoons lounging by it. Komang was super nice, really responsive and was able to answer all my questions before we arrived. He showed us around and even supplied coconuts (showed us how to open them) and fruit but otherwise left us to our own devices. The villa is a 10 minute walk to the near-by restaurants (not too hilly). It would be super easy to get around if you're confident driving a scooter (which I'm not) but it's also easy to get Grab cars and scooters too. The other reviews mention the insects and geckos, if you don't like that kind of wildlife, then Bali in general isn't for you. I thought they were so sweet and loved watching the geckos, frogs and even saw a praying mantis. I didn't bother them so they never bothered me. The rooms also have padding on the seals of the doors to reduce the chance of visitors (which also helps to keep it cool) I loved our week at the surf ranch, I literally kept saying to my friends how glad I was that we chose it and will recommend it to anyway staying in Uluwatu

The location is unmatchable. The house is a blend of of hacienda-style design with local elements which blend very nicely. The beds are really comfy and the bathrooms are beautiful, you have open showers that make a simple thing a whole experience.

Some mosquitoes, but hey, it is the tropical climate. In Bali you have to get used to mosquitoes, geckos, some small worms, but all of them are really harmless.
