We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful holiday home. Everything was exactly as described – and even better in real life! The house is very well equipped and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of storage space in the rooms, which we really appreciated. A real highlight was the fantastic outdoor kitchen with a grill – perfect for relaxing evenings outside. The pool and garden area were very well maintained and inviting. Communication with the host was easy, friendly, and prompt. We felt at home from the very beginning and would love to come back. Highly recommended! :)

Massimo was an incredible host, he made us feel like family and always went above and beyond. He organised our scooters which were waiting at the villa when we arrived, he also had the pool guy come over to change the timer so the lights would stay on later for us. All of his recommendations were exceptional including the incredible supermarket in town and local restaurant we went to twice. The villa exceeded our expectations, it was perfection and felt like our own resort. We spent most of our time in and around the pool and cooked everything in the beautiful outdoor kitchen. I would highly recommend Villa New Charme and Castellamaro del Golfo area in general to anyone visiting Sicily. We will definitely be back next summer and hopefully many more!

The photos of the villa on Booking.com are a real professional job, it looks great. The location is good for a quiet relaxing break, lovely views of hills all around. The outside space is nice, a secluded private garden with a lovely pool that was dirty when we arrived, but after a call to the owner it was cleaned early the next morning - good response thank you! The next 2 bits should be in the ‘didn’t like’ box, but it wasn’t big enough! Don’t go expecting the advertised solarium and hot tub, they don’t exist, just sunloungers and a jacuzzi area in the pool. And be ready to put your toilet paper in the basket, not down the toilet. Advice for owner... Go to IKEA and get a full set of cheap but decent kitchen items, put in place a proper cleaning regime, take responsibility for what has gone wrong, even if it costs you some money - a visit from you and proper action could have saved our holiday! Instead, we had 3 ruined days of a 7 day visit and are around £2,000 out of pocket!

When we arrived a thunderstorm had caused a big water leak into the annex bedroom, so the clothes hanging area, drawers, curtains, flooring and carpet were all soaking wet. We did our best to clear up, but no-one came to inspect the problem or help. Clothes were left in open suitcases overnight but by the next morning were damp, as was all the bedding. I suggested a dehumidifier to dry out the room, but the offer from the owner was only to turn on the aircon (we did, it didn’t help). I agreed that the leak wasn’t the owner’s fault, but it was surely his responsibility to correct it and provide the 3 bedrooms we’d booked. This room was not habitable especially with a 7 month old baby, more storms were forecast and with no help from the owner, we decided we had to move elsewhere. I asked for a partial refund, but his response was that the villa was “presented clean and comfortable” and he would not refund anything. I tried to be reasonable and even offered that we share the financial pain equally 50:50, but he insisted there would be no refund, even when Booking.com tried twice to intervene. If all rooms had been usable we’d have stayed and made the best of the cheap and/or worn out facilities that need upgrading, and done some cleaning! Examples: pillows were old and badly stained, quote “did someone die on them?” (we got 2 new ones!); mouldy shower curtain and black mould in bottom corners of shower in main building, dirty shower door in annexe; mixed old crockery like from a charity shop; no wine glasses; not enough coffee cups, and some broken/cracked; dirty BBQ, dirty finger marks on wall by fridge; mouldy old parasols dumped in the garden; dirty box for kids toys. The (unhappy) cleaner came back but only tidied a few things, and put the floor mops and dishcloths into the washing machine together (!), then said to turn the machine off at the wall before opening or we’d get a shock!! No big surprise as it's in a grubby outbuilding and very rusty

Location is awesome. The swimming pool and the garden are beautiful and spacious. Staff was super responsive and friendly

The double bed was sagging, really uncomfortable and surprising for a property of this category. Then, the AC from the second room was not working properly, barely cooling the room

The outdoor area was beautifully kept and the swimming pool was exceptional. The biggest I've had at a villa - bigger than some hotels I've been to! The area was lovely but you do need a car. Anastasia and Massimo were available to help whenever we needed them and were very friendly. My Mum is in a wheelchair and we found the whole villa accessible. The shop and restaurant at nearby Scopello was excellent.

The property is very private with a lovely pool and outdoor area. We were four adults, two young children, and a small dog, and the layout of the main house and smaller guest house (a large bedroom and bathroom) were perfect for our group. There was a small kitchen and outdoor grilling area so we could cook some meals at the house. We felt safe given the private entrances to the property. Our contact, Anastasia, provided local recommendations for a supermarket, restaurants, private boat tour of Castellammare and some other nearby sightseeing options. She was very responsive anytime we had a question. Temple of Segesta, Scopello and Eric are all nearby sightseeing attractions to explore. Keep in mind, there isn't much within walking distance, so a car is a must! On the weekend, downtown Castellammare was bustling with people and we enjoyed some nice restaurants, lively bars and some shopping! It is a surprising small city with lovely sea views and charming streets to explore.

We were the first guests of the season, and it seemed the house hadn't been opened yet. So we had to do a bit of cleaning and open all the doors to freshen the air. The outdoor furniture and grill needed to be cleaned really well before we could use them. Despite the first guests of the season, I would have expected this to be addressed before we arrived. It's the main reason for not providing a higher rating. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.
