Property is still good and new but appears to be run down in some areas. Big stains in carpet near elevator and elevator was getting scratched and banged up too. Hopefully in off season it will be repaired and maintained at a high level as that is one of the reasons we loved it. Staff was very nice and helpful.
Perfect location. Plenty of free parking. Beautiful views of the river, beautiful shopping and restaurants were amazing. Staff could not have been friendlier or more attentive.
The George is a wonderful hotel right in the middle of downtown Georgetown. The hotel has a wonderful dining room and an outdoor bar. The decor has a lot of southern charm. I have stayed in the hotel a number of times and highly recommend it.

The Independent attached to the restaurant had phenomenal food. The bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet, and we enjoyed our stay.
Georgetown, South Carolina is acquaint beautiful little town, you can walk along the board to walk and see all the beauty of the water and the boats moored. The wildlife is beautiful to watch. Great restaurants to fill your appetite and quaint shops that supply a variety of gifts. We stayed at the Georgetown Hotel, the restaurant that joined them was absolutely wonderful!
