The White Lion Cowbridge

I dined in the pub restaurant. It was excellent and good value. The local villagers who use the place were welcoming and friendly as was the host. No TV in the bar or lounge, just nice soothing jazz music. Also no TV in the room but who needs a TV ? The room and huge bathroom with massive walk in shower was excellent. Great pub with great food and great accommodation.

Beautiful little place. The room was amazing. The bed was super comfy, nice big room with a huge ensuite bathroom. The staff were amazing and very friendly.

The price. Over £170 just for a one night stay without breakfast.

Room was beautiful, seemed newly decorated, clean and modern. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Good parking, perfect area for our purposes. Kitchen area great for making tea/coffee etc. Great potential.

No breakfast offer despite there being a restaurant in the premises. I don’t think this was clear on booking. Suggestion could be breakfast ordered the night before from a small menu, but disappointed nothing on offer to make our stay more enjoyable. Not sure staff understood that one of the party was there for two nights and one for four nights. Room not made up after one of our party departed. No contact with staff after our arrival. No TV, radio, sound system in room which is a given nowadays.

Staff were friendly, helpful and pleasant. The room was very comfortable with a large bathroom ,good shower and mirrors. Easy parking.

Cleanliness would have scored 10 out of 10 but for the cobwebs on the ceiling and lying in bed and catching the spider( good job I like spiders!). The property would also have scored 10 if not for constant road traffic noise even with the windows closed.

Very tastefully decorated and furnished. Good facilities for tea/coffee making and fridge available.

I would have appreciated a breakfast.

This was the most comfortable accommodation I have stayed in the UK. Huge bedroom sitting room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed and Victoria could not do enough to help us.

There was no tv - but I didn’t need it so wasn’t an issue for me. Just need to be aware and take a good book!
