APPARTAMENTO a CENTRO STORICO DI CATANIA

He did wait for us and meet us physically to drop the keys.

We found the stay to be very challenging. Inside the property, there was a strong unpleasant odor, and we noticed insects present during our time there. The rooms appeared not to have been thoroughly cleaned before our arrival, as there were visible stains and some leftover items from previous guests. Out of three air conditioning units, only two were working, and the air quality in the rooms made us cough while staying inside. When we left, we unfortunately forgot to take out the trash and left some food and a drink in the fridge. The host contacted us about this afterward, and the conversation became quite unpleasant. ( after realising he might be wrong, he implied he had intercourse with my mom- so you can imagine how the conversation went) We were also charged more than expected for the city tourist tax, though later we were given beach entry tickets instead. Additionally, the room I stayed in had walls where the paint was peeling. Because of the overall experience, I’ve chosen to share the conversation with Booking directly rather than making all details public. My hope is that this feedback helps improve future stays. Update: Booking reviewed all the conversations we previously had with the property over WhatsApp, and they agreed with me. Even though forgetting to take out the trash is not a nice thing, it is not worth a meltdown from the owner. (It was in a covered bin in the kitchen- literally 2 days' worth of trash)

Het was een mooi en ruim appartement met veel charme, en gelukkig airco in elke slaapkamer. Parkeren kon gewoon gratis in de straat.

Het appartement lag in een weinig aantrekkelijke, vuile buurt. Het ontbijt was magertjes (wel vaker in Italië). De bedden lagen niet goed. Mijn eigen dubbelbed piepte en kraakte bij elke beweging. Niet geschikt voor verliefde stelletjes 😉

The owner is friendly and helpful. The location is ok, close to the city center (walking distance) and 8 minutes from the railway station what we used to travel to Siracusa. There is a super restaurant, only 250 meters ( Vice. 5 ) form the apartment that you should visit. The atmosphere of the apartment is very gloomy, a bit dark and everything looks very old.

The apartment was superb. Great accomodation and several amenities provided by the host.

The neighborhood was a bit unpleasant, specially during nightime. Several hookers on the surrounding streets and dirty streets in general.

3 bathrooms.

-Apartment located close to San Berillo area in a quite unsafe neighborhood utterly inappropriate for female travelers! -On the last day of our stay we did not have hot water. -We were forced to wait for two hours in order to check in, after being "warned" that we would be charged an extra fee if we arrived after 8pm. -The overcharged couch bed for the extra person was extremely uncomfortable. We were asked to pay a disproportionate difference for the sixth person that was more than triple the price suggested by booking. -We never received an additional pair of keys as asked. -Too many stairs, no elevator, can be very difficult for elderly people   In a nutshell, not at all as expected, not a value for money.

Once you are in the apartment it was cosy
